[Request] Please add to item settings "Do not prompt confirmation" when discarding

As the title says, for unique/untradeable items. Toggle option of course.

Reason: Although a purely selfish one, it also stems from when I'm cleaning inventories. The cleaning does not happen often but when it does, I tend to throw out of lot of things ( I make sure to put all the stuff I'm going to discard in a separate window) and then, I find myself having to throw them one by one, clicking the confirm button.

I understand why the prompt is there and I do like it for that 1-5 things I might discard in the hour or day but it actually becomes a true index finger exercise when I do it in bulk. I would actually request the ability to select multiple things at once, like in a similar fashion to re-using the trade window slots also for discards but I'd rather have the actual option of disabling confirmation prompt.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

Good luck. Some people here really seems to enjoy flaming optional features being suggested if that's not what they want for the game.

on topic: I'd love that, would make cleaning inventories more practical!

I got no problem with this if it's a setting to turn off and on. Removing it from the game though? No way. That prompt is what makes me actually look at what I'm tossing. In FFXI, I can tell you this would have be SO NICE to have.

It's ridiculous the amount of confirmation messages this game has. Even more ridiculous when the default answer is "no". I never needed them.

Cleanse the salt from your wound and be practical. This is something that already exists, they are asking for it to be allocated for another purpose. There is nothing to add. See housing, and character settings. You can turn off the Item Bind prompt when placing items as well as a certain type of prompts.

I like this idea, would go perfect in Character settings.

As long as that's a toggle and not a feature removed from the game I'm fine with it. With my luck, I would be that person who inadvertently destroyed a very expensive piece of penta melded crafting gear while cleaning out her armory chest. This has actually nearly happened more than once and that warning saved me. So as long as it's an option that isn't default on, and I have to make actual effort to turn off in character settings, and can't accidentally click it off... go for it.

As you can see from the responses thus far in this thread, that isn't the case. Fact is that there are many players who will defend SE and their decision making. That doesn't mean that they think everything about the game and all those decisions are a-ok, but they will claw back at those who disguise their disgust with the game in "suggestions". Those type of threads typically do have a suggestion, while simultaneously bashing something, which brings a huge amount of negativity not only in the thread before it can take off, but also the community.

In this case, along with her suggestion, the OP clearly states that she understands why the confirmation is there, mentions why it is an issue, and also provides a solution. THOSE are the kind of suggestion threads the devs are looking for, and they are few and far between on the English forums. Many of us only want what is good for the game, and when we think a suggestion is harmful towards it and/or the community, we will try to explain why. It's a lot easier to brand someone a post flammer than it is to understand their reasoning.

I am for this change as well. My only issue with it is I know I will end up tossing something I did not mean to because of forgetting to turn the toggle feature off. I am definitely one of those derpy people who would forget their head if not attached to their necks. That's a me thing though, and I totally get that most people don't need x1001 prompts to confirm their decisions.

*see that I did in bold there? How I oh so subtly threw a jab in there?* People don't usually think about things like that when they post, but it's little things like that, that can completely change the way a person responds to a post.

Thank you for pointing the bolded part out. I've thought about this but I don't know if it's something they could do with the game but maybe they can make it so that upon exiting the game, that particular toggle resets itself back to default. That way, for example, say you were mass discarding stuff on Monday, leave the game, come back say...Saturday? And totally forgot you disabled confirmation prompt, the reset feature could prevent that sort of accident.

Y'know, I actually was going to disagree because I'm one of those people who would accidentally throw out their raid chests or gear doing clean-up, but after reading the thread I can get behind it, especially an optional setting that defaults back to "off". Wouldn't affect me in the slightest and would make things better for some people.

I would agree on one condition

No threads about accidentally throwing away rare items cuz the prompt was turned off.
