What jobs fit best with what races

For my picks I'd say BLU fits good for hrothgar cause their both extremely limited and can't enjoy the full grasp of things like other jobs/races can.

Hyurs fit good for a MCH cause both the job and race can pull off a cool western cowboy gimmick.

What is some of your picks?

An OP that both complains about Hrothgar and BLU designs under a seemingly different context. An interesting approach to make it different from the hundreds of more direct threads complaining about those, I suppose. In any case, I'll go along with the discussion and say that I think aesthetically DRG and Elezen go together pretty well.

For dragoon, elezen or au ra especially. lalafel look good in a lot of caster or healer gear. Roes mostly in armor.

Female highlanders tend to work well for everythign I find.

Aesthetically... Gotta love them cat bards. Fits Elezen well too imo.

Viera and cat for dancer.

It's also possible I just like Miqo'te a lot.

Red Mage and Lalafell.

• Small species are always good casters
• Can stand in the second row but don't have to
• The size of the body does not matter because magic is not bound to physical size
  
• The size of the physical weapon (the rapier) does not matter because it's magic-infused and thus even the small blade does hurt a lot that way (see bulletin above)
• Rapiers are easier to handle than axes and broadswords; no muscular build needed
• Due to the shorter appearance, the boots and the gloves of the Duellist attire is not as stretched and huge as on other species
• The plume helps us to be seen for taller races: "Here is someone next to my knee!"
  
• Since Lalafell are short, the rapier gives us a very 3-dimensional look: Chapeau with plume for the hight and the long, pointed blade for the width (unlike the very beanpole-like Black Mages)
  
• Because of the official render
  
• Lalafell are physically neither beefy berserks nor testosterone-filled rowdies
  
• The tricorne compliments our pointy ears (just like Elezen who designed them apparently)
• Severely underestimated
• Nimble and quick, no fatigue even after long fights
• Duelling someone that is half of your size is a great disadvantage

Midlanders work well for pretty much everything, given that they're present almost everywhere throughout the game world and adapt to whatever nation they happen to live in. That's the case both for the combat jobs and the crafting/gathering ones too.

Some jobs do have a cannonical race

Black Mage and Scholar are Lalafell jobs
White Mage is a Hyur job
Warrior is a Roegadyn job
Dragoon and Machinist are Elezen jobs
Gunbreaker is a Hrothgar job

All of these jobs have a lore reference about their creator/s being from that race and the knowledge of said job being used by that race. Basically, at some point in the game we are told "(race) created (job)"

There could be some debate over Samurai, Ninja, and Dancer being Hyur as well, Eastern Hyur, but that has no main basis, unlike the jobs listed above.
