I will sometimes mute dungeon ost and play it on youtube on loop so it doesn't get interrupted by boss music, but other than that, bass type trap, phonk, etc lol

After the first time I hear music on XIV then yes. Unless I like the track. Since I'm back on a new PS4 pro I mute the game's music for old/ stuff I heard before and make my own custom soundtracks. I love having the music I play mix with the game sounds like it's part of the game. Now if only Sony would let us stream with our custom music playing from spotify like they USED too... then life would be perfect.

I do. I’ll put on any of my Spotify playlists I made and listen to either guitar rock, sixties, extreme metal, or my all eras music playlist.

Not music. I do mute the entire game and listen to my audiobooks though while crafting or doing anything that doesn't require 100% of my attention. Currently going through The Wheel of Time. Pretty good narrators! I've read the series quite a few times already, but never listened to the audiobooks before. It's quite an enjoyable experience.

Lately I've been listening to the game music until 6am hits for most zones. Or if I happen to be gathering near a FATE that keeps obnoxiously swapping my music back and forth by proximity, I'll turn music off.
It's about 50/50.

Just been the Promare soundtrack on loop for 2 months though, with whatever KLK tracks youtube slips into the mix.

I have a hard time focusing when listening to music outside the game, so I only do it with content I have done many times. If it is newer content, or content that requires a lot of focus, then I don't.

Before the ShB expac, for a pretty long while, I used to "experiment" by playing some music from other FF games while I was doing alliance raid, most notably Orbonne. It's kinda fun. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I mostly watch anime when playing, well listening to anime is probably more accurate because i didnt see the anime monitor, but yeah... except savage and above xd

I do sometimes. As an example, I played Aerith's theme while doing the Dying Gasp, and I felt it fit in perfectly with this fight.

Most of the time I don't though. I'm on PS4 and usually don't feel like fiddling around with a playlist while also playing the game. Especially in a duty.
