cant say I've payed much attention to PLD since i despise tanking, but id rather be a backup tank/DD than a main tank... I personally think that the problem is mostly with the stats for MRD's wep attack, stuff a paladin would NEED to tank properly, if they changed pld's wep attack to something like say...
DEX + VIT for Example, off the top of my head, it would be better tanking stats and pld may actually put those stats into effect rather than being either a good DD or a weak attacking brick crap house...

WAR Att+ stats: STR/VIT
PLD Att+ Stats: Str/MND

WAR can beef up its str/vit depending to be a DD and a Tank
PLD Needs to add VIT to itself and therefore can EITHER be a DD OR a Tank
thats what i get from looking at stats and actually playing them a bit, my inexperience with PLD is made up for the fact I never tanked on WAR until 45+

Someone give me a VALID reason as to why I'm wrong before trying to blurt out how HP is more important to tanking, Especially since a PLD hasn't been able to steal hate from me since i started tanking on WAR, I don't need collusion, I don't need Provoke/flash, I just hit stuff alot.

yea few of my war mate def is always around mine even with me pure buffed up in full sent which should be cause as far as i've always know PLD they had higher HP than war's Gd little bit more DEF donno what way ffxiv is taking PLD but it's doesnt seem to be the way of a main tank no more.

i dont think its so much a Defense problem as it is Emnity, hell, haven't met a tank that can keep hate off me yet when i go full tilt on any class/job

(Before anyone starts... yes, its hate not threat, Threat is a potential danger, hate is how much they wanna kill you)

PLD just needs a very solid DEF boost imo. I do not know why SE didn't implement job specific traits when they should have to define jobs even further. And SirThesd tanks aren't supposed to be able to keep hate on any DPS when they go all out at the initial engagement of battle because the DPS is supposed to wait until hate is established to go all out.

I do not know why SE didn't implement job specific traits when they should have to define jobs even further.

Just put stats on the job stones directly. They made them "equipment" anyway, so why not. <_<;

I know they arent, but even if i give them a head start and getting hate, i go full tilt for like 5 secconds and wham! its eyes on me!
