I do every quest daily so I can sell furniture to people who don't want to do the quests or haven't gotten to Shadowbringers.
More gil for moi.

I wish they'd add more things to do at the beach. I've already built a sandcastle and gone swimming, so now I have no reason to ever go back. I don't understand why other people like beaches. I mean, I can just sit and read at home.
True story. Maybe you need to invent your own reason. Having some insane grind just to keep you in a zone just makes people upset, see atmas, eureka, diadem, etc...

Sure. I'll just invent my own reason rather than wishing they would do something about increasing the longevity of the zones.I wish they'd add more things to do at the beach. Silly me for wanting them to take some of the beautifully created assets in their game and utilize them more.
But hey, at least I can go to the empty zones and twiddle my thumbs meaningfully and get a sense of satisfaction from my time spent there.

People do that at beaches all the time, I'm not understanding the difference.Sure. I'll just invent my own reason rather than wishing they would do something about increasing the longevity of the zones.

The difference is that you're being willfully obtuse when you know exactly what I mean.
Perhaps you should head to that beach you're talking about and take a long walk off a short pier.

Nah, that wouldn't be fun. Maybe find some friends who like to do overworld stuff.
Anything meaningful will be zerged, see hunts. Everything else has an end objective, or you "only spend a few minutes there so what's the point"
Maybe look less at how much time you spend there and more at enjoying the time while you are there?
Increase the longevity by how much? Utilize them more in what way?
In my experience, whenever people want more longevity, it just turns into meaningless grinds. I think FFXIV has a good enough length for a grind as it is. Future MSQ may visit the zones again, and there are always hunts and gathering nodes.
You can make your own content, do some role play or have an event with your friends in the zone of your choosing.
People seem to wring content dry like laundry they gotta wear in 2 hours. But have nowhere to go.Increase the longevity by how much? Utilize them more in what way?

I'm sure I'll be back in 6.0 when we have new jobs to level and I'm looking for the easy boost to 80. Especially if they don't add another deep dungeon.
Actually, it just occurred to me that we've had no word of any optional trials like the Warring Triad or the Four Lords for ShB. Huh.
FFXIV offers a certain deal to players. Part of that deal is: You dont have to revisit zones after you are done with your MSQ, except for stuff you dont really need. You can play the game as a multiplayer lobby game 98% of your gametime, not leaving whatever hub you decide to be at, ideally your FC house.
The core gameplay, which is relatively small, short and easy compared to more mature or serious MMORPGs, is a lobby game grinder. The side activities are what makes FFXIV be more than a lackluster gear treadmill, and they need you to go places.
You seem to expect FFXIV to change its nature to an actual MMORPG. Its not, and the supercasual playerbase wouldnt want it to be. Actual MMORPGs died out a while ago, being replaced by faux open worlds with lobby gameplay.
