There's plenty of reason to go back, even the stormblood beast tribes are worth going back to. Going on time spent to exp gained the order for higest xp is:

1. Pixie beast tribes (1-2mil exp depending on level 5-10min to do)
2. Any fates if you have a group
3. Stormblood Beast tribes (Just over 2.1mil at allied for both about 15-20mins depending on how far spread ruby sea ones are)
4. Solo xp boost fates with twist of fate buff
5. Solo normal fates with twist of fate buff
6. Solo xp boost fates
7. Solo normal fates

Time to leave Il Mheg and not have any reason to go back, like the rest of the zones!

You could say the same with the city states. What reason do you have to go back there, if you completed everything? Ever heard of just enjoying the environments without being tied to an objective?

Well too bad for you. Many of us have plenty of reasons to go back still. Gathering and hunts are additional reasons for spending time in most zones.

I'd keep going back to get easy drops for materia trade ins and sell them on the mb. Barely any effort spent for some easy gil through materia selling.
