You have to see the bigger picture. Gathering/Crafting helps your own inventory and purse. But the enlisting helps out dozens of players.

So being ripped from the open world straight into wiping to the first room of Aurum Vale 3 times because the tank wouldn't a get a clue is contributing to some great Eorzean cause right?

Aurum Vale is legitimately my favourite ARR dungeon. I'm still sad we're unlikely to ever see Aurum Vale (Hard) manifest.
