when would you need to double weave outside of the opener? forcing yourself to double weave and using 6SS to do so is just straight up bad. You're making a niche ability even worse with your method.

Also, I'm not sure why BloodRuby is advocating just taking them off just because you don't raid. You should still learn the basics of the skill, as niche as it is. Double weaving isn't what 6SS is intended for. It's intended for disengages longer than 2 GCDs and final hits for boss jumps and TK's main use is to use it if you are going to drop GL in the upcoming phase transition, or to use as a final hit against the boss. You don't need to be a raider to practise good fundamentals for jobs. Anyone advocating anything is hurting the playerbase by preaching bad habits.

I do use it the way you recommend (finisher or before disengage longer than 2GCDs) but most of the time I forget, and I still don't get punished because of it. The damage increase is just too small for me to notice without a parser.

Let me clarify why I use it to double weave:
1) I have bad ping, so even when I'm single weaving single oGCD, I will still clip through half of my GCD (at 4 GL stacks). I have the same problem with MCH.
2) I can't tell if my finisher (with or without TK) that it will kill the enemy. I'm just... bad

'Preaching bad habits' was more of a generalization to those that do give misinformation as opposed to being directed at you, such as the guy above advocating just taking them off his bar if he's not raiding anyway. My first line was more directed at your method of using 6SS. But if that's the reason why I could understand it a bit better
