    Critical hit! Direct hit!

    The rest is worthless!

I hope SE takes a hard look at secondary stats one day and does something about how boring they are.

Tenacity and Piety can be useful in prog of very hard content such as ultimates, and det is often used by healers and more heavily used by WAR due to having guaranteed direct crits. Skillspeed is also necessary on most classes up to a certain breakpoint

Piety is useful for ASTs outside of high-end content simply because their MP economy is pretty bad, and they have no other methods of managing their mana outside of Lucid Dreaming (for Refresh) and Lightspeed—which, every other use has to be used in tandem with Sleeve Draw if one was trying to utilize the latter in an optimal fashion. So they have one-and-a-half ways to manage MP, where as WHM as three (Lucid, Thin Air, Assize), and SCH has three (Lucid, Aetherflow, Energy Drain).

Hate to break it to you, but there's always going to be the "one mathematically correct" answer to optimizing a class.

Even ignorin’ comparitive effectiveness, secondary stats are all SHITE.

Crit an’ direct hit ya can see at least. Determination an Tenacity? Oh aye, I love gettin’ little shaves of tiny +% better on my kit, that’s super fun. And skill/spell speed might as well not even exist, with how little it does. When it’s not screwin’ up weavin’ or cooldown alignin’.

And ya know what? We still aren’t shown an approximate average of what they do. Yer ability ta customize them is wank - even if ya go nuts with materia ya see changes of 3-4%. Wow matey, I’m blown away.

If someone plays a BLM and doesn't add in any SpSPD, they're probably not going to have a great time.

Dont worry, with players "choosing" all the same thing to not be yelled at how they need to go look at some theorycrafter guide, i think that in 6.0 SE will go even further than the removal of main stats materias, and merge all remaining ones in "thebigmateriathatgivesyouabigdps IX" and "thebigmateriathatgivesyouabigdps X".

And of course the players will complain that the game become more and more for casuals with the removal of even more "choices" XD

    Yes absolutely.
But that doesn't mean we should dumb the game stats down to "Gloves of power+20" and they are 100% better than your "Gloves of power+19".

Even if it's an illusion of choice, the difference in stats can really be fun to work with. And for those who don't find theorycrafting or playing with unique stats entertaining can just wait until someones figured out the mathematically correct choice and run with that. Wanting more of x stat while maintaining a minimum speed and accuracy were something to actually do. Something to think about while getting the gear you do have. Getting one cool new piece may change your entire loadout!
But we're taking away more and more and eventually we'll just have one bland stat. ilvl is already almost that as it is.

This is what actually makes what I mentioned above true. Not knowing the exact values adds to the mystery and gives the players something to do with them, rather than just receiving them.

Tanks should go with tenacity as norm instead of pure dps melds.
Their dps is as low as healers now so cumulative deffensives and offensives outweights heavily offensive melds, determination by 2.8%, Dhit by 2.6% and crit by 2%, and this is excluding healing buff from the same stat which would make things even better for tenacity, for a good warrior in raid tenacity melds are equal to about 430 potency heal and around 420-450 for same skilled DRK.

Direct Hit IMO is worthless on Tanks/Healers because you're only getting around a 12% shot of doing it at most. That's too low to be reliable. Determination would be a better stat to invest in for them since it increases the low point of damage/healing the more you invest in it. The healing part of that is mandatory for all healers, since one less (o)GCD to use for healing is another attack spell cast. Tanks...you have the aggro, you're always going to be hitting it, DET is more important.

DPS, Direct Hit shares importance with Determination, though I believe DET is more important for BRD/MCH/DNC considering you're always hitting the enemy unless it becomes untargetable.
