The path to tradeskill success

The most recent patch(5.1 about 3 weeks ago as of this typing) changed the exp curve for crafting and gathering classes. Ive seen people get 5+ levels from doing a single turn in. So your idea does have merit, but there is no challenge to leveling these classes in their current state. Do your GC turn ins, toss in a leve here or there. Get some skybuilder scrips from ishgard restoration if you like(available as low as level 20 if youre progressed far enough in the story to have access to it). This wont be hard to do as long as you dont lose interest.

Thanks for responding.

I understand that the exp curve for gathering and tradeskill classes has changed drastically. That possibly is good for me, but unfortunate for all the hard working gatherers and tradeskillers who spent so much time raising their skills.

Will tradeskilled items drop in price now ?

You will also find yourself locked out of post level 50 skills and post level 50 gathering areas if you don't do the MSQ, and you can only do the MSQ on a battle class

Thanks for responding. I understand that I'd have to level a battle class to level 70 first anyway and do all the MSQ quests. Thanks for the tip.

I also understand that money isn't really a big issue at top level anyway for me to do this.

Will tradeskilled items drop in price now ?

Some of them already have. Some will over time. Some will stubbornly refuse to go down as much as you might think they should. Markets may mostly be predictable, but there are always surprises. There are a few markets that will always have value to them(the new battle gear at the very beginning of 5.2 when it can give a raid team an edge in early clears/as a catchup mechanism for anyone who wants to skip the current tier, furniture items and/or trophies that involve annoying to acquire mats, glamour items with non-standard mats, etc). Ill also parrot what Raldo said about not super-needing gil. You do find some players who spend their money as fast as they make it and always seem poor, but there are plenty of players with nothing to spend any gil on and thus whos bank account just continues to rise. Even if you dont end up needing tradeskills to make bank, having the option to make something when you need it is a value itself. As is self repair, melding, and potentially a few other side benefits.
