I don't think there is too many people that like long winded replies(I do).If you guys would create longer, more thought-out posts then you can avoid that. But these empty one-liners - a speciality of the SMS, Facebook and What'sApp generations and adaptors - make it necessary for you to constantly respond. And worse: Constantly re-check for answers, which is time consuming as heck. And then you complain you have to speedrun duties and kick slightly underperforming players holding your run back by 48 seconds because of your busy life..![]()
I know I won't win any popularity contests with saying such stuff, but the vast majority of the "heated debates" is fluff that could be compressed into less posts to begin with.
Depends on what the long winded reply is saying i guess as generally longer replies are a lot more informative.
Saying "This sucks" helps noone ever, but if somoene writes a well reasoned arguement as to why it sucks i'll probably read it even if i don't necessarily agree.
But then you also get uber long replies that go off on a hundred different tangents and you give up reading after the first paragraph because you've already lost the point they're trying to make..
I've got what 2,000 posts some of which are moderately lengthy but well recieved even if they do offer an unpopular opinion. but I've never hit a limit.
I make 0.74 posts per day according to my profile. So even when I have a lot I want to say I'm nowhere close to any limits
Apparantly the limit is 20 posts a day. That's more than adequate I think. if you need more than that then chances are whatever it is your discussing has majorly derailed and is no longer constructive anyway.

There's a post limit?
Whenever I do make long and well thought-out posts, people tend to not read them. So............If you guys would create longer, more thought-out posts then you can avoid that. It's not the same to make a long post as to put in personal experiences that nobody cares about or to make it look pompous for no reason at all.
You can make arguments without boring people.
Oh, I know. But on here, people tend to gloss over the posts that don’t immediately agree with them or condone their viewpoints, ignoring any and all argument in favor of mindlessly repeating themselves and strawmanning to the point that you get a headache trying to sort through it all. I can’t seem to refrain from making long posts when it comes to something I’m particularly passionate about, but I can’t help but think, “What’s even the point” 90% of the time—because it’s likely the person I’m replying to won’t bother to read what I wrote anyways!

I've found
General discussion - keep it short and sweet with the occasional long one if needed
Lore - Long/short don't matter
Role section- depends on subject but mostly short but definitely be prepared for long discussions
It is just more dedicated people tend to go to other sub sections on the forums and thus are more likely to have longer more thought out discussions on certain subjects.
As for the post limit if they can't remove it at least double it from what it is now
Guy butt is best butt <3
There have been requests to remove the post limit going all the way back to 2015. The supposed reason for the post limit was due to 1.0's horrible launch and state of the game and how the forums were being flooded with posts about it. This is obviously no longer the case, but they've never removed the post limit.
I made a similar request earlier this year and was greeted with derision from a few people. As SturmChurro pointed out, it brings a discussion to a jarring halt when you reach that limit. Forums are here for discussions. Post limits prevent discussions.
I doubt it will ever be removed, but if this is the thread that achieves that, I'm happy with that.
