Tales of Death: Copied Factory

With The Copied Factory being out for a short while now, I've gotten to thinking this would be a good time to start sharing stories about dying in the alliance raid. They could be funny, a derp party member, blaming your controller, or whatever else.

As for myself, last night was crazy. I thought I was getting the hang of things. Kept dying, kept reviving others. We reached the boss with the three circular platforms and, halfway through, my alliance was wiped out. We called for help and I was lucky enough to die near the edge of the platform. So they revived me. Immediately I began panicking to get the tank up so they can keep the boss off me... And we die just as someone points out that I should healer lb3. Fortunately, again, I was at the edge of the platform. Someone revives me and people are saying, "go go go!" Immediately got the lb off and we continued through the rest of the dungeon frantically reviving left and right until we reached the end of the final fight.

Team A having to carry teams B and C thru Nier Raid because they kept all dying. On one boss fight there was Me and tank on my team was only ones alive when we killed the boss.

My first run and fight against the tank boss is where I had the finest most epic death of all deaths in MMO history. All got the targeted circles, all freaked out, all came right at me with their circles.

I wish I took a video of it, yall would have had a good laugh, seeing 20+ big purple circles Sonic the Hedgehog'ing towards one person.

Though it only looks that way because I was at the tank and everyone else darted towards my general direction near it.

Having no tank for the 3 different platform mechanics. Crate came down and I had to soak all the line tethers with all my shields. Second time it came, everyone brought the tether to me, I died. Good times

Oh, how many times I've died in this raid. When they say in real life, "it gets better." They can mean it for this raid as well. I used to constantly be in C group where we just knew we were going to die to the mechanics on the 3 circles. I continued if only because of the gear, the box, and the minions. One day, my minions will come, but I digress. In the beginning, I was dying 7 or 8 times, but now I die maybe once a raid. It only gets better!

I'm one of the tanks and decided I want to flex on people stacking on the south part of the plattform on the Engels Phase 2 transition, so I decided to run to the side, roughly 5y next to the middle line.

I missed the corner by one step.

Possibly the worst thing I’ve done in FF14.

During the Engels fight, I got there first out of the whole alliance, so I put down the markers as to where each tank goes, A to the west, B to the south, and C to the east. Well it turns out B goes to the north instead, as that’s where the mob spawns, as the party B tank, I thought to just to go the north, but one of the other tanks grabbed enmity out of confusion and I wasn’t able to get enmity back as I was dead, this all eventually resulted in the entire alliance wiping due to the tanks dying and then everyone else.

In short, I killed a entire alliance single handily. Funny thing was I I didn’t get blamed, other dudes where complaining how the other dude grabbed a extra mob, even got a few comms at the end. Still felt terrible about it.

First run after this week reset, no deaths at first boss. (Alliance A)

Second boss just normal stuffs where some deaths is expected due to poor reactions. (as in 4 people getting flattened by box cover)

Goliath more or less 1 or 2 death and someone blame on that "its AOE keep repeating and I dun have time to dps."

Engel like average most likely due to people with homing AOE running through the crowd (I usually don't stick with the crowd) and the arm slam on platform thing (which is ok cuz I myself have difficulty guessing which move it will do).

Then Spider Jet Final boss, you know the meme of Healer spreading through DPS and tank for goliath? That didn't happen, but I did seperate from the rest of the pt, again, to tank and bait one tank. For some weird reason, everyone except me in my alliance died, and required other alliance to res.

To experience death, maybe I should queue as DPS.
