Thee_Freshness, I do apologize for for the delay in our response. Does the crash happen when there are other programs running in the background? If so could you try disabling them (along with any overlays).

If you have not done so already, could you do a clean boot? Open the task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

Just downloaded the new patch and I'm still seeing the same error.

Browsing through some old threads going back to 2015 (DX9) One thing people have had success was switching to the last old graphics drivers. I know Nvidia pumps out a lot of updates. It is worth uninstalling and going back one. Another thing were some overlays like Geforce Experience, were causing some issues. (questionable imo) The sad part is Square enix does not really have a dedicated tech support. This issue has been going on for years. I bet anything this is a driver issue more specifically something that was updated.

First thing I would do is remove any graphics apps like geforce experience completely. and reinstall the last driver you were playing on. Some people may have auto updates on.

Good morning and thank you for the reply.

Thee_Freshness, does the crash occur when the game is set to Full screen? Could you try switching to borderless full-screen or windowed mode? Additionally, can you try running the game on Windows 7?

To change compatibility mode, right click on the exe file (Default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe), right click it and select ‘Properties.’ Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and select Windows 7.
