Initial game download freezing at ~1300mb downloaded every time.

I am trying to download the Windows version of the game and as I start the download it downloads at very slow speeds and everytime it gets to around 1300 mb, it just stops downloading and doesn't move. I have 300gb space on my hard drive so that's not an issue, i've tried running the launcher as an admin and that didn't change anything.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Are you connected directly to the router or are you using WiFi? Do you get any error messages?

I'm connected directly to my router and no error messages, the download just stops and goes to 0.00 mb/s at the same spot every time. I have tried changing the download path and it still downloads in the same place each time.

Thank you for the reply punksome.

You may want to try some of the following in order to alleviate the issue:

    1) Double-check that your anti-virus has the proper exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV.

    2) Try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

    3) Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that they have been opened:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
Your ISP can open these ports for you.

    4) The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
