Is that an actual thing in FF?
To me it honestly kinda just sounds like RDM.

I wish RDM was more of a melee tho I really like Rapiers but they're barely in any games.

RDM is a bit different because the magic and sword skills are not really tied together. RDM is a bit closer to PLD in that aspect, as you alternate between a magical and a physical phase.
The Mystic Knight though, in previous games, is able to enchant its sword. It doesn't necessarily cast a lot of spells.
In fact, I think Mystic Knight could be a good candidate to share gear with Ninja.
