Good lord you people need to look around, everyone keeps suggesting things that already exist.
Just on this page alone someone described a RDM and ASTRO, also please stop suggesting sword based tanks, 3 out of the 4 already uses swords.

What tank job would you suggest that doesn't use a sword
And RDM is too close to Paladin. And Samurai is too close to Ninja. And Reaper is too close to Dark Knight. And Dancer is too close Bard. And Hunter to close to Sniper etc. I can see where you are coming from, but FF Classes have historically been linked, see Red Mage as a concept.
Healing with stars and cards =/ Time Magic. White/Black Magic =/ make your sword glow in different elements during phases.
I can advice you to check some FF wikis for some job history.
Me personally, I'm rooting for:
Geomancer (Caster - Bells): lasting fields ala Sacred Soil but change your rotation, maybe some ground-targeting AoEs, Bind, Supportish, another Caster w/o focus on Fire
Beastmaster (Melee - Dual Axe): not limited, have pets function like Egis with skins for all I care
Sniper (Ranged - Ornamental Bows [less gigantic]): Caster'ish, no DOT's, combo oriented instead of proc based
Assassin (Melee - Dual Sword, slicing Katars): Poison oriented, Stealth (think Ninja in PvP), maybe Skill Speed variance phases, Scouting Gear, Ninja Job quest is not focused on that at all iirc
Chemist (Healer - Vials): Mudra System, dropped the Al- prefix to focus on more practical science (established medicine like Phoenix Down, throws potions to release 'healing myst' around the target, Plants
Morpher/Druid (hybrid): morphing into different beasts, Druid with an additional Nature Magic focus
Puppetmaster (?) : hardest one for me, love the concept of FF11 building your own robot, but never played it. Maybe could use Minions in combat as well.

Wow talk about stretching it and extremely thin skin, you know none of that is true. And RDM is too close to Paladin. And Samurai is too close to Ninja. And Reaper is too close to Dark Knight. I want the Viking class, as a Warhammer using class. Based on the class from FFTA2.
Time Mage as a healer... It probably could work as a concept similar to the Exorcist class from Bravely Default...
Geomancer (Magical DPS / casting gear / ranged / weapon is a mallet + bell offhand / uses elemental and nature magick / leans more towards support like RDM as opposed to selfish dps)
Gambler (Physical dps / scouting gear / mid-range / Whips as weapon and uses an assortment of tricks / very RNG based)

Green Mage!
> Bring back Protect, Stoneskin, et al and give them to Green Mage
> Add in some stat reduction debuffs like defaith and deshell.
> Main DPS spell can be something along the lines of a weaker version of Comet.
> Weapon type can be scales of some sort.
