So for crafting, it's best to do it for the custom deliveries. So to do that you need to complete the quest in Mor Dhona (Go West Young Craftsman) and then you can talk to Zhloe in Iddylshire (Across from Khloe's booth inside a bar). There you can buy the materials you need to craft the turn in item in Iddylshire by the summoning bell.

If it's your first time doing the quest it'll only let you craft 3 of the item first before it swaps to another, so buy enough mats to make three of the first turn in item and then make a set of the new three after you turn them in.

Crafters are easiest scrips for collectables since they start at 50 and getting to 60 now is extremely easy. When you do that you can unlock Mnaago in Rhalgr's Reach and if you do sidequest chains in the Ruby Sea and Azim Steppe you can unlock Kurenai and Ardikragh.

They all have their own storylines to complete but by doing them unlock more options (including more options for bonus scrips).

After your deliveries are spent (12 in a week until reset) you want to gather collectable items from your gatherer. You'd go to the House of Splendors person in Iddylshire and look at what you can gather and then start gathering them as collectables.

Alternatively, look in the timers window (standard hotkey is CTRL+U) under "Rowena's House of Splendours" to check your daily collectable turn-ins.

Thanks, a lot of useful information there.

It seems like collectible gathering has improved a lot since the patch as well. I can get about 5-7 turn ins off 1 node for the Old World Fig and Yellow Copper Ore, giving me around 150 yellow scrips every 30 minutes.

If you are going to farm amber encased vilekin, the best leve to use for that is Dance, Magic Dance. You can see the majority of the spawning area from the small hill/cliff and a short flight of about 10 seconds will take you around to see whole area where they can spawn. Initiate the leve, check for treasure chest, loot it if it spawns, abandon the leve, retry, initiate.... just keep doing that. You don't have to actually complete the leve. I've been farming these for about a year, off and on. I've got 3 Lux weapons, almost 4. I've done this step four times total with ONLY vilekin farming (read: no scrips or other means of getting sand). I'm halfway through the 5th on this step.

Considering how tedious it is to farm vilekin, I would strongly recommend scrips instead. Thanks to Ishgard, or more specifically the /lean emote, I'm leveling my crafters and I will probably not farm vilekin anymore.

For the Light farming step, my recommendation is to do either Haukke Manor (Hard) or Brayflox Longstop (Hard). Both of those, once you get into a rhythm, can be cleared in four to six minutes unsynced. But if you can get some friends to Light farm with you, Alexander unsynced is much better. It's just not efficient solo, and can't be done at all solo on some jobs.

I'm addicted to Relic Hunting and I'll eventually have all the Relics. Lux are by far the easier Relics to get. Zeta.... ugh.... the tedium is real.

Honestly even before the nerfing in 5.0 crafting/gathering made the worst step the easiest. By 6.0 the light step will be nerfed enough one person can run A9S even with the weapon and be done in a good amount of time let alone in a group.

Really it all boils down to saving poetics/gc seals and getting the tokens as quickly as you can. I think in a whole I got a weapon done in a day because I stockpiled everything.

The Heavensward relic is actually extremely fast and while some of the fights aren't soloable, they are still pretty quick to just DF them once you get to that part. If you farm up all the materials beforehand you can finish it in a day. If you go at it casually a few weeks to a month max. Farming Light is a joke and It's even faster if you get into a group to farm A9S for sturdy light. The ARR Relic will take a bit longer due to how annoying the book step is. It's still extremely easy compared to how it used to be.

I happen to have just completed another Heavensward relic for glamor purposes. So your ability to complete it will depend on your own level and what you have access to, but... to answer one question. No. It can not be completed solo.

At level 80 I was able to do MOST of the completion for the weapon solo, however, the final step of the process requires you to do a victory lap of sorts completing all the primals, and Bismark is not possible to complete solo. Even at level 80, the sanua adds in that fight take basically zero damage if they're not kept seperated, so you'll need a friend to help for at least that step (or complete it in duty finder)

Beyond that, I can say I was able to complete the weapon in about a week. The steps definitely take a lot less time nowadays than they did back when they were current for sure.

Also, I would mention at this point if you want to complete it completely solo, when it comes to farming light, I would recommend doing this in Brayflox Hard Mode. You can do it faster with a team in Alexander Savage, but if you're going by yourself, then Brayflox is your best light for your time spent.

Yea, the character I'm doing this with is a level 60 Paladin, and I already hit a solo wall pretty early in I think it was Satasha Hard Mode. The first boss basically poisons you then 1 hit kills you if the poison isn't cleansed. I was able to hallowed ground the first one but he just kept doing it.

Mainly looking to solo as much as possible because I'd like to be able to get through some of the more tedious parts while I'm working, which means I could be frequently interrupted so groups are a no-go. I think I've got a good plan worked out now, thanks to all the help.

The one bonus of doing this at level 60 before starting Stormblood is that the weapon may actually be useful as more than just glamour for a few hours.

IMO the slow spots for the ARR and HW relics are the stages where you have to farm "light" by doing trials and such for points. At this point progression specific quests and getting items from trade ins and such are going to be trivial.

To do the anima weapon, I suggest you clear Alexander up to the ninth stage, where people farm the lights from the savage version of it. You can always check party finder to gather the people, usually on weekends.
