what can i do as a casual crafter for ishgard restoration?

i only have cul at 70, idk anything about gathering. i have fish at 30 i guess but i stopped cuz it was boring.

i tried openign the ishgardian log, but to craft even 1 item there, the mats would cost me 300k from the mb

i thought this was content for all crafters? or i guess not with these prices

Big problem is right now Crafters without Gatherers are the ones who are having the most trouble.

I would say personally level a gatherer (in your case Botanist since you're a CUL) and just gather the lower level recipe mats. They start as low as lvl 5 and it'll get you exp as well for your CUL but also will help you level your other crafters.

It would be best to start leveling gatherers, but you can buy the relevant materials off of the market board. The scrips you acquire can purchase items which you can sell, to offset the cost.

Level a gatherer. The xp gains are huge and it is super easy to level them now.

i just power leveled my botanist to 60 (it wasnt that far off but this exp boost is insane)
and i just do the lvl 60 recipes

grab alot of mats
make loads
rinse repeat

Pretty much. The EXP gain is huge for Gatherers/Crafters now. So you'll prob get to like level 20 in an hour. You can honestly just focus on the low level mats that require only a Botanist and then just start crafting from there.

Gathering is simpler now that you can quick gather. Leveling Botanist first is a good idea since it directly compliments Culinarian and doing Botanist levequests is probably going to level you the fastest. Once you can gather the majority of the materials you'll find the time expense to be justified. Players are overcharging on the Ishgard rebuild gathered mats on the MB at the moment because they know players want to unlock the script rewards as fast as possible so its better to just gather your own materials.

Also make sure to pick up the Botanist quests while leveling since they give you equipment you can use and also give XP in addition to the story.

Grand Company dailies for Gathering will net multiple levels up to 70-72. It scales back a bit after that but add in some discovery bonuses (gather everything once - even if you immediately turn around and discard most of it) and just gathering. You can gear now from DoL NPCs and you will have enough stats to push out levels. Find the resource that is 95% gathering rate and use the GP skill that adds 5%, using 50GP. It can be used for extended periods of time. The main problem you face right now is you level out of gear so fast, you might want to buy stuff for the next set and have it in armory before you set out.


Once you have a gathering leveled, you begin to see how cheesy the prices are on the MB. You can have enough stuff to do 100 turn in's inside an hour.

I took my BTN and MIN both from 38 to 40 on leves alone and it only took a few minutes.. compared to long time ago where using leves for them were a big waste of allowances and hardly any good xp to compensate. So while they don't have the big huuuuuuuuuuge xp gains the crafters are getting, right now is also the best time to level gatherers.
