Skybuilders' Crosscut Saw lvl 70 = 20 scripts maxed reward. Requires 6 ore, 6 another ore, 6 Sand, 4 logs and bunch of crystals.

Crafting and gathering combined takes about 3 minutes per item. That makes it 400 scripts per hour.

The worst part is the gathering. You could buy mats and make 20 scripts a minute, making it 1200 scripts per hour (or 4800 per hour with Trained Eye), but that would cost you fortune quite quickly.

Now compare it to 500 scripts from fates. In 5 minutes you get same reward as contributors who spend 75 minutes crafting and gathering the stuff themselves, or blowing 375k gil (Twintania prices) to buy the mats for those scripts and still spending several times more effort and time than the Fate.

The Fate reward is quite imbalanced.

The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.

Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.

Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.

Yes but these stages are forever lost to them. They wont ever personally see how it was before the change. Mor Dhona was done that way but the next time with Doma we were able to see the change in our own pace and imo it was awesome.

Even if there are more stages its not given that they wont be the same and people that cant play all the time might still miss it. And seeing how the restoration itself is probably the selling point, because the rest is nothing but Rowenas delivery with different currency, its sad that this part wont be seen by anyone.

For what it's worth, let me add my deep disappointment as well. The Ishgard Restoration project just doesn't work for those of us with day jobs, and aren't able to log in at the precise moments when concerted works take place. I've already missed the first four phases on my server, Chocobo, and with my current hours, I expect I'll never be able to participate in one, ever.

That's a gross oversight for a game that's supposed to be designed for players across all kinds of commitment levels, including those who don't really have much time to spare each day to play.

And then, of course, there's the fact those of us who miss the stages as they're implemented will never get to experience them at first hand. So, yes, I agree with OP: This whole idea has been very poorly designed, as players coming in at later stages will never get to "experience" rebuilding Ishgard for themselves.

bear in mind the fates only show up rarely and only a limited amount of times, they're not a constant source of scripts.

The one time event ever is just bad game design since some players cannot participate and miss out on content. It would be better if each stage was the same fate multiple times throughout day/week like the gold saucer is so we can garuntee we will have a chace to see fhe event if we can log in at least a few hours in a week. And then make each step of the building progress its own instance so once you have finished that stage you are moved to the next instace that has that fate progress for that stage. Once upu complete the quest you land in final instance which could then be closed off after a month or whenever they release the next part.

Like, what are they talking about?
Participation? If you turn in stuff you are participating. That's how the fate POPs, it requires the time and effort of tons of people turning in collectibles. If you turn in items then yeah, you helped the cause ... you're a part of this. regardless of if you're there for when the fate pops.

So outside of that the only thing I can think of is the rewards, which are mostly for people who are leveling or want to get those big ticket items faster but don't have a high crafter. Like, I'm looking at the scripts I COULD get if I used my lvl80 WVR and I'm sure I could make 100s of scripts easy. But I'm doing this to level my others which pay out next to nothing compared to the max level crafts so thats really the only thing I can see.

Think maybe the devs should give people a cut scene for when they enter the first time after a major development from the fate. Maybe that would help drive home that everyone who turned stuff in was a part of this?
I personally wanted to be apart of the rebuild and see it. Some of us wanted to see that, surprising as it is.
I couldn't even get to it. I had no time to do so. I'm from Balmung and even though we're pretty populated
there should be no reason why it should have been done in 3 days.
This is mostly all we got until next year...all done in 3 days.

And now that I was oppose to world visits, now I want it back so I can actually see the progress
(if so possible from seeing in other worlds) help lowbie worlds who may
struggle and have a sense of involvement too.
Granted, I don't know how the other worlds are going now.

A lot of shoulda, coulda, woulda's here. SE dropped the ball how this planned out in all honesty.
I appreciate Yoshi stepping in and doing something even though he admitted he saw this
potentially happening but it's a little too late.

I think the Lv60 recipes may be more efficient. 14 scrips at max collectability, but they only require two types of special materials instead of three. If you do the goldsmith craft (candelabras) you can buy the candles from material suppliers for 225g each.

I really hope they change this for any future installments as its really a bummer : \
Pay a sub to get locked out of content I guess...

And yes, I know I'm on balmung, but it'd be nice if they had made instances that lead up to one collective goal. That way some others could participate too

Hoping for the best next time...

I missed them too. I really wish they included the Ishgardian Restoration into the Timers page like they already have for the Doman Restoration. It's not convenient to have to go all the way to Ishgard and then walk to an area outside of the Aethernet just to check for the timer.

I've said this before, with the restriction, the chances of someone seeing the event after they missed it on their world is 0%. Especially if someone can't login in the 8hrs span between the two. But since thinking was hard, people decided to follow the echo chamber of "wanderers are stealing our jobs" and ask for world visiting restriction instead of actually thinking what's the real cause of the problem. And that is one instance per world with 6 chances of an event with massive reward to appear in a timed manner that only ~300 that can participate in. So, they got what they asked for and to no surprise, people still couldn't do it as evident in this thread.

But I find it funny how people actually believe that world visiting is actually the problem, while the same scenario was happening exactly during ShB release for Archeotania and Formidable FATEs. But in this case, the event is always available, more than one instance, and was with a random timer. This lead to the instances only getting congested once the FATE pops, not an hour before. Furthermore, thanks to world visiting, people had more chances of getting the FATE instead of waiting between 36-72hrs once it dies in their world. So people didn't complain, because the FATE design didn't affect them. But now with this event, they clung to the first thing they thought was the problem without thinking about it.

Only thing left for those that missed out now is to ask Yoshi P to allow the FATE to pop multiple times till 5.2 drops out once a world finishes the final stage. But I find that hard to happen since the instance changed after the final FATE where there's nothing to build in that area anymore.
