Derp im using security essentials and I'm getting the same error

hmmm that sucks im not having any problems or have had any using MSE

Im having the same issue too. I also had to system restore about three days ago. But every other game and their patcher works fine..

EDIT:

I played FFXIV after I did system restore, before the servers went down.

So similar to my deal. I system restored, and could play up until the servers(presumably, I didn't open it when I got home, so I can't say for 100% sure) went down. After they went down, this has been happening.

That didn't work for me. I'm going to try and find the meaning to that one solution I found, but didn't understand the accronyms today..

Oh. My. GOD. I HAVE IT PATCHING FINALLY. I was directed to ffxiv core, and I found something that worked.

Look at jackels large post. Do it to the letter, and it should work. My god.. I am so happy...
