Yes I know, norton is a pain sometimes with auto-updates. But I need something.
These replies still don't fix my problem. What is error 11023 stand for? If I know that, at least then I can start to try and solve this problem...

As a up and coming student in the computer programming world, one of my professors suggested AVG. AVG is a free product that gives great Anti-Virus support among other features. I would suggest possibly getting rid of your Norton and switch to that. Also, a great Malware program to look into is MalwareBytes. Make sure when you download these two items to check your system by running them in Safe Mode. In safe mode a lot of viruses that get imbedded into your registry and such don't have peramiters to activate in your safe mode and are easily contained and deleted.
I've tried AVG, Avast, ext. And I have malwarebytes. But, these still don't find anything new. Aside from some tracking cookies once in awhile.. I don't know what this error means, I was told I could have linger after effects of a virus, a java script blocking thing.. But I don't know what its called, or what I do to fix it. I need to find out either...As a up and coming student in the computer programming world, one of my professors suggested AVG. B) What the name of said java script blocker thing is to look up how to fix it
I am getting this error and my computer in completely clean and I have tried disabling all Anti Virus / Spyware software this can't be the issue. :/
So its not... just me. And so that means it could not be a virus/sort.. Hrm.. Now that gives even more need for a SE reply. :x

Well I finally got mine to patch but now I'm getting 13001 error... lol. I google'd the error code and used an old thread topic to deduce what my issue turns out it did involve my Anti virus which confuses me because I completely disabled it prior /shrug GL guys.
What luck! What antivirus do you have if I can be nosey/fishing for information.
I am 100% baffled as to what to do now, I am out of idea's until I get some awnsers. I could run it yesterday morning, after coming back form the virus, and it workjed. I went to town, get the norton, came back and installed it - patch had started by then by the way - and since then I've had this issue. uninstall norton, uninstall ffxiv, reinstall ffxiv, no good. Turn norton off, no good, do a whole list of things, no good. I found a thing on another forum/old post...
(from http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...er-for-version)
Currently using ESET AV (but will most likely work for any AV you are using with the following option), I went in and disabled the option to Enable HTTP Checking. Once I turned it off, the patch was able to download. This is the first time this has ever created a issue, so not sure what has changed.
I don't understand that, due to not understanding what ESET AV means, or AV even. AV = antivirus?
God I want this fixed soon :l
