    Error 11023

    Hi, I'm trying to update to todays patch, and ironically, I also got a new virus protection(Norton Virus protection 2012) and I'm not sure if they're interfering with another.

    I had a fairly bad virus earlier that morning that I had to system restore to get rid of, and further scan with maelware bytes to clean some more. AT THAT TIME... I could log in. That was roughly.. 10am CST on monday the 26th. I went to town after that, and after doing chores and also getting the norton 2012, I came home ~2-3pm CST and I started to install norton, and when I finished, it was around 4-5pm. After when maintinence started. This is when I tried to start booting it up to download the update in advance.

    Appon bootng FFXIV client up I get this error..

    11023 Unable to access server for version check.(4:20455,20444,19901,13)


    So, I start to tamper around, and talking to people to see if they can patch. I find out, they can. And its small, yada yada. So, its me. Ok, next step. Try and find the problem. So, I spend probably.. 10 hours? Yeah, right about 10 hours scouring these forums, Norton forums, and also Windows site, trying to find fixes for small things that *might* be causing the issue, and I am so baffled now.

    Its only been happening since YESTERDAY, after getting home from the store, and (Maybe) after installing norton.

    My computer is an HP, windows 7, model number p6616f. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 210 in this computer, and I have a low ping Cable/DSL internet.



    Any help would be appreciated.

    Better then getting hammered with virus after virus for 2 weeks straight due to not having live protection.

    I have less problems ever since i stopped using anti-virus programs ironically, virus free for a year, just don't be stupid.

    be sure norton isn't blocking ffxiv check and see if it is allowed or not or switch to another anti-virus program xD

    Ha.. Wish I knew where to find the blocking list/firewall settings. I've been looking for them for an hour or so now, and now am trying to look over their site. v.v

    ok, so I've been working threw this all day now.. I now know it wasn't norton that is blocking it, instead, what I thought was it was traces of a zero access rootkit that must have been on my computer.. but the thing is still not working after a fix to that. I would really want to request some kind of help now.

    Even more update... I uninstalled and reinstalled. I still cant update, and am getting the same error. :x

    Get rid of Norton and use Microsoft Security Essentials IMO it's much better and it isn't a resource pig

    Stop using Anti-virus at all and download your data more carefully . I never used Anti-Virus on Windows, ever
