"Honestly, who cares?" I do, as this stuff happens in so much gods damned content.
Pug ex farm party and an expensive item drops? Someone makes you wait the full time by not rolling.
Recent raid and you want the gear/glamour/minion? Another dude decides to not roll.
Dungeons in general? You bet people aren't gonna roll either, and when I am leveling and gearing, I would like to actually use that new gear in the dungeon to make things faster. Gods damned map parties?
Lol, a shell leather/enchanted lumber dropped on the last room, looks like random that joined through PF to fill it enough to do the map, who didn't bring their own, is gonna make us all wait for that too!
I've gotten salty and petty enough to blacklist anyone I find doing this.

Pro-tip: Kick them as soon as the fight is over, and before they click on the treasure box.
Doesn't work in Crystal Tower series unfortunately, because the fights are way too fast. But I've managed it in every other raid.

It doesn't matter... until it's the Nier raid, which I have seen happen a handful of times already. Regardless, if everyone had this mentality, then even LotA would never get cleared. Why should one or two people get 4M EXP for literally doing nothing?Honestly, who cares? It was Labyrinth. If he / she was actually doing something (namely DPS, as a miniscule amount of healing is required to clear Labyrinth), the clear time would not have decreased noticeably. So, no, the loot timer should not be changed for anecdotal joke content where kicking the afker in question would result in a barely noticeable clear time. Plus, the 5 minute loot timer needs to be there for i) prevent trolling kicks and ii) to let someone, who legitimately contributed, to come back in after a DC to roll on the loot.
And? Sometimes a disconnect happens. If you miss loot, you can always run the content again. Not only does it prevent people from being removed, they also purposely wait out the five minutes hoping people leave. Reducing it to two minutes is still enough time unless you have a bad disconnect, which case you probably aren't making it back in five minutes anyway, or a slow connection.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."

I wasn't aware it could be used to circumvent being kicked out. Yeah, it could do with a reduction in time just to prevent that.

I was vote kicked out of an alliance duty once because someone thought I was not playing, even though I totally was. So I don't take kindly from people arguing about making vote kicks easier. Especially on Labyrinth of Ancients! That thing is so easy that I think 4 players can carry the entire alliance.
"Nur dur! piple not pleyin' on libirint! Durr!" If it was a Lv 60 alliance or higher I would totally understand having some concern. But Labyrinth? Get the heck outta here!
My main concern with the loot roll timer is when people don't vote because they want something from that list and think the others will lose their patience and leave if they hold the timer. I love destroying their hopes. I always remind the party that I'm a Lv 80 fisher when I see that it may be happening. I let them know that I can wait all day and they won't get that loot easily. Votes happen immediately after, every time.
I'm not bluffing. I can wait the timer too. I always vote first though because there's a special place in hell for loot timer abusers. :P

The only people who would defend players AFKing out of laziness in any duty are the lazy AFKers themselves.

Simple way to fix this is change how vote kick works. Allow a 30 second grace period after loot is up. If people dont roll on it, they can still be vote kicked after the grace period and it will forfiet that loot roll if they get kicked. If they roll on it anytime before being kicked, you cant vote kick that particular person till the loot rolls end. Should solve the problem as if they roll to prevent being kicked, everyone else just needs to roll and then initiate a kick, and if they try to hang on, after 30 seconds they lose that 'protection'.
