If something isn't as "ideal" as something else, no one wants to play that way if they know better. It's the reason why when we see Darklight gear we all say "we want that". No one says "nah even if I could get that, I think I'd rather stick with this Alpine War Jacket". Come on...

^ I do, for cosmetic reasons. But that wasnt the point. Sometimes you go with "less than ideal" because its there. Sometimes, the difference between "less than ideal" and "ideal" is negligible. 1 tank, 2 whms, all range DD's is "ideal" in FFXIV. Are you saying its justifiable for no one to want to party with melee dd's? Of course not.

/facepalm: you dont need to be ideal to win. You dont need to be ideal to completely stomp. You don't need to be ideal to do a speed run. You just need to be good, organized, and efficient. All of those things you can accomplish without the "ideal".

THIS is what players need to start to understand.

"We NEED this setup." No. You don't.
"We NEED a WAR tank." No. You don't.
"We NEED 5 lancers." No. You don't.
