So I will not be able to participate in the majority of the progressing stages. Great. Someone on reddit just mentioned that the stages can be pushed through hand ins and fate spawns WITHOUT any timely restrictions, which seems even worse than S hunts.
I'm really displeased now. Was so excited to help Ishgard rebuild and see them progress, but it seems, others do the work. What will be the leader boards be, #1 all hogged by one person from another server besides my own?
This really is silly. I'd like the opportunity to participate in my own world's event. As it is, I guess I'll have to try server-hopping. As it is, you have to try and get there an hour early...

I would welcome the help, but by doing so, you are pushing the progress from a different server artificially and people from their homeserver WILL feel as if they hadn't contributed enough at all. (Not to mention they'd miss out the transitions of the phases, while people server hopping people prob. seen it alreasy thrice or so)I'll admit to having been a wanderer that did the fate on another server, but I spent that time crafting and turning in what items I could to help move the progress. I wouldn't have even been there if I had been able to get into the event on my own server, which I could not, as it was flooded with people by the time I logged on, native and wanderers alike.
I don't think they should remove the restriction, as it does hinder lower pop servers from being able to get help. They should just add instances, like they do with all the other zones at the start of an expansion.
Give us Firmament instance 1, 2, and 3, and the issue would more or less be solved.
People choose a low pop server for a reason. If they decide to accomplish things in a slower pace, let them. Don't take the experience of new content from them!

Once the progress bar for the stage is completed, it doesn't matter how many crafters are turning in collectables. Everything is waiting on the timer.
Servers came up for JP prime time so they had plenty of crafters on hand to push progress right away. EU progress was steady at first since servers came up during EU mid morning hours then surged forward when their prime time hit.
It was dead of the morning in NA when servers came up so very few players online then and not that many more were coming online during the midday hours. We managed to get our progress bars completed before or just as our prime time was starting but it was slow due to fewer players in general online.
NA's status has nothing to do with a general lack of crafters and much to do with the timing of when the content became available. If the servers had come online at 8pm Eastern instead of 5am, you can be sure that our progress would be much farther than it is right now while JP and EU would have been the ones appearing to lag behind.
Not sure what your point is. NA had all morning, day and evening. EU had half of morning, day and evening since it seems nothing much progressed overnight...
I think Squeenix was, as usual, thinking locally and not globally when it came to the "problem" it was trying to ensure they preemptively fixed.
I have no doubt they looked at the smaller JP worlds, went "I dont think Tiamat's 37k population could do later steps easily without world visit" and ignored that the smallest non JP server (outside Spriggan and Twintania) has more than DOUBLE that population. They probably also didnt take into account that theres people on each cluster who would make a discord for the sole purpose of ensuring they camp out in each servers Firmament as soon as it the fate unlocked, for the purpose of ensuring as many people as possible on the home server got screwed out of doing a badly-designed fate. (Its a poorly designed, brainless fate and the reward is the equivalent of 9 collectable turnins. You arent actually missing anything if you didnt get to see it).
Servers came up between 2 and 5 am local time, and NA still had a server racing for world first.Interesting, still phase 1 for most NA servers. On Chaos only Spriggan is still in phase 1. Guess NA people just do not like crafting?
Servers are locked at phase 1 for 10 hours after you turn in enough items to advance them, 2 for the fate and 8 after the fate finishes. Based on the average time it took servers to finish, this puts each server unlocking each phase roughly a couple hours earlier each time. Which means JP and EU should finish phase 2 (and EVERY subsequent phase) well before most NA servers do, because NA will perpetually unlock each phase somewhere between 2 and 5 am, which means most NA servers wont have any real completion done until the afternoon, because the difference between 5 am and 3 am unlocks is like 10 people. Not sure what your point is. NA had all morning, day and evening. EU had half of morning, day and evening since it seems nothing much progressed overnight...

We had popped the FATE by ourselves, on par with Goblin for turn-ins most of the day according to friends there. I spent the majority of the day in the instance and there were VERY few Wanderers until right before the event started. Then we were flooded with them and everyone native to the server was locked out. They had not helped with the turn-ins all day yet showed up to reap the benefits of the crafters of Mal.
Malboro has always been a crafting oriented server, one of the reasons my FC jumped ship from Gilgamesh when we were looking for housing last year. We were never going to struggle to get anything done and definitely didn’t need the “help” from Balmung and Mateus invaders. We have 23k active players as of the last Reddit census.
Not being able to access content I was looking forward to (and yes, that I pay for as meme worthy as it is to say that), is really crappy and makes me not want to play the game. It’s made even worse by the Wanderers mocking native players and advertising CWLS in global chat to raid other server’s FATEs.
SE either needs to add a buttload of sharding for the Firmament instance or restrict access to players from the server. Both would be the best outcome for this debacle.
They need to boot AFKers too.
I just checked our server after ariving at work quick and the second phase is allready over 50%. I have a normal life so i didnt had that mutch time yesterday. After checking all that new stuff out and getting used to it, it was allready so late again that i needed to log off. What happens once the restoration is finished, cant i earn any scripts anymore or what?
I was also a bit disapointed, i thought we get an overworked Eureka for Gathering the mats, instead they just added a few new nodes in the old zones. Also the requirements for the Ishgard stuff are so low that there is even no need to get the newest Gather/Crafter equip. I thought first about getting the new 460 gear to, but there is simply no need i can still craft everything easy to max with my old stuff. They could made atleast the max lvl collectibles for ishgard harder to craft and giving us a bit higher rewards for them.
