Ishgard Restoration shows how hungry players are for DoH content--but is this enough?

Balmung finished their stockpile before the morning was over the very first day. And Brynhildr, which is a middling server, is set to finish before many people ever get out of work the first day.

It's obvious that there's a hunger for thoughtful, rewarding crafting content. As an endgame omnicrafter, I spend most of my time grinding for yellow and white scrip so I can overmeld my gear. So that I can HQ things to sell, if I spent time looking for categories on the MB that need HQ things to sell. I also make things for friends, but a lot of stuff is one and done. And endgame foods don't seem to be that much in demand.

With the crafting changes and getting 10+ levels out of a single leve, I'm not sure what SE is trying to do with crafting. If everyone is a high level crafter, that will mean I'll mostly be making stuff just for myself, and as a player who is here for community, this is a bit of a motivation-killer. Combat classes have to play together to do anything--though the trust system takes a bit of this away--but crafters interact by doing things for others.

I hope that SE is doing something with Ishgard Restoration to make it more than just a single match of interaction every several weeks.

it is super shiny new since its day 1. guaranteed interest will fall off heavily as people get their rewards and or levelling finished.

I don't know if people are in fact "hungry for DoH content" or in fact hungry for new glamours, emotes and the teased possibility of a housing district - and will frantically do whatever content gets them there, whether they enjoy it or not.

/lean was a heavy impetus for me to get in there. Now that I have it, I'm rather content to take my time with it.

Probably not. In like almost everything, they probably aimed their expectations low, so that if was even middling to high, they would see it as an extreme success of the new content.

I can't see it lasting.

At core, Ishgard is a glorified Rowena's scrip grind. It's just the allure of those levels flying up and a few rewards that has people hooked for now. I'd compare it to BLU launch week, every leveling zone was packed because of the crazy exp, but the week after that the class was dead.
