The Restoration of Ishgard - Gather bug?

Okay, I must be doing something wrong. I log in with my 80/80/80 gather do the story quest to unlock the new little area read all little "!" quest in there. Go to my gathering log and find the level 80 items (which I see a lot of people gathering) pick up a stack of 10 each telly back to the foundation walk over to the guy to get to the new little area walk over to the turn in guy and he tells me "You have to at least be level 20 on discipline of the hand or land to turn in items." I'm level 80 with the level 80 items?!?! No matter what I do that's the only answer I get.

Did I miss something... I did submit a bug report in-game, but there is no way to track it.

I turned on the "Collectable" icon when gathering and the two items are "Grayed" out.. I turn off "Collectable" and then I'm able to gather the items. So that's not it, I clicked on other gatherer's that are out there and they didnt have the "Collectable" icon.

Help?!?!

So I have to gather the items and then craft it? So this is just a "Crafters" event then? My wife is the omni crafter... so this event is ONLY for crafters then?

This. They have not yet added anything for gathering turn-ins yet. They will add that, as well as something for those who only utilize DoW/DoM classes in a future patch.

Apparently gatherers can join the collaborative events so depending on what rewards are like like they might be able to get stuff out of that. Mostly it seems gatherers are there to just gather mats in bulk

sadly, gatherer is only needed to stockpile the market board, so the actual crafter could create the items needed for ishgard restoration...
the crafter will get the scrip reward, whereas the gatherer doesn't... (maybe gil from MB selling is enough ?)


SE might add gatherer turn ins in the future... (or next step ?)
but for now, it is really disheartening...

Gatherers will be able to contribute directly in a future patch.

They announced in the live letter that initially the progress would only come from crafters. After that, they would allow gatherers to directly contribute to the restoration, and then after both of those are implemented, they would then allow people who aren't crafters or gatherers to contribute by purchasing scratcher tickets.

Maybe I didn't pay attention to the wording but to me, everything I read gave the impression that this was a "Hand" & "Land" event not a need "Land" to implement the "Hand" event.

It just sucks, that's all.
