    DPS and Dungeons waiting time.

It's obvious dps is always going to be more played then support because of obvious reasons. Having a system that's 2 on 2 support dps ends up with unplayable long queue times that 80% of your player base is going to hate or whatever ratio dps to support is.

Doing dungeons for pure leveling as u like to group up with randoms and do content with other people that is harder then delivering packages basically u do not want to bother with world quests is practically impossible to do as a DPS. 30-40 minutes wait is brutal while my friend gets instant queue's as support. Which basically forces you to go support.

It even gets worse when party's are made up of only 2 dps with 2 support. This means the game aspects there are going to play as much support as dps in this game which as we can see isn't working.

The solutions for this isn't that hard and honestly i wonder why its not a thing.

Make the player amounts in a group flexible.

If 30 people sign up with only 10 people of support, create groups of 6/2 ratio, is it 20 on 10 then its 4/2. Scale content towards it in a dungeon with scalable health and damage which already happens at this stage with downscaling.

Another solution and honestly i wonder why it's not even a thing at this point. Remove support classes necessity entirely. Sure u can be a healer without problems with less damage so party has more sustain, then dungeons can do more damage output to balance it out. Basically remove the need for support classes or even dps for that matter. Let people play what they want to play. Make fights more about dodging attacks like already is happening etc.

Just my 50 cents on the matter. Currently i want to level after hitting 69 another dps class but without main quests i honestly can't be bothered. The 30-40 minutes wait times are brutal and whenever i hit a MSQ roadblock with 2 dungeons behind eachother i have to beg players to "boost me" so don't have to sit in a 1,5 hour wait time queue to get further.

If you're having trouble trying to que for a dungeon as a DPS, you could put it up in Party finder. Generally most of the time people are willing to come help run content with you to help out. It's rough for DPS since past 2 expansions there's been 3 DPS classes introduced and 1 tank. I'd hope they have a new healer in the works to balance the que times eventually.

So completely re-writing the instance system in the game to flexibly support larger groups as you suggest is almost certainly(99.999etc%) not going to happen. And as the entire combat system is built on the triad(tank, heals, dps) i think the odds of them redoing everything to be completely flexible to team lineup is equally unlikely.

So since your "solutions" arent happening, what can you actually do to lessen the issue you face? Well, you mentioned your friend getting instant ques by playing as a tank/healer. Why not group with them when you run stuff? You both get instant ques, and you both have a friend in the group to make things more fun. As a solo DPS player you also have more options then just "Doing dungeons for pure leveling". Once you get into the expansion content(51+), the beast tribe quests are actually worth a ton of exp. Sure, this is the "delivering packages" route you say you dont want, but you can get close to a level a day just from doing an expansions worth of tribes(15 mins work). Daily hunt targets are similarly worth a lot of bonus exp. But again, none of that is in a dungeon. So what you need to unlock are PotD/HoH, and your squadron. The squadron is a team of NPCs that you recruit and can run dungeons with. There is a select group of dungeons you can run with them, but they can be spammed to your hearts content and the que time for a DPS class(any class really) is instant. The AI is a bit sketchy in some of the fights, but with persistence patience and planning you should be able to do any of them on any class. Squadrons are unlocked by ranking up in your grand company and doing a short quest at their hall. If you get to the current expansions content, they added the Trust system. This is similar to the squadrons and they have much improved AI, but you have less choices for who to bring to each dungeon. Currently trusts are available for MSQ dungeons from 71-80, and they have said they might look to expanding this in the future.

Which leaves PotD/HoH. Palace of the Dead is dungeon that consists of 200 floors of random procedurally generated rooms(with a set boss every 10 floors). A PotD instance consists of 10 floors ending in a boss fight. Your starting points are on floor 1 and 51(once you get there). The system gives you 2 saves(which you can erase to start over at any time outside of the instance), which let you continue making your way deeper into the dungeon(so continue from the last floor you completed) - though continuing doesnt let you make any changes(if you qued as a ninja, you must continue as a ninja - if you qued with a group of friends you must have those specific friends with you to move on). You can enter PotD with a fixed group(as in alone or with up to 3 friends) or with a matched group. There are no class requirements, so the matching system will put you with whoever else wants to run the floors you pick and you can wind up with any combination of 4 classes(4 healer runs are slow but fairly safe, 4 dps runs are quick dirty and dangerous). If a player dies, theres a way to revive them without having a healer in the party but if the whole party dies the instance ends and no rewards are earned. The early floors can be completed by most group makeups as long as youre properly leveled up and everyone plays a little smartly. The higher floors(100+, but especially 150+) become significantly harder and are really more challenge content then leveling content. The PotD uses special systems for leveling gear and loot, and frankly ive already typed more then i intended to so im going to cut the whole explanation short and include a link instead. The HoH i mentioned is Heaven on High, which is the stormblood version(its 100 floors going up, rather then 200 floors going down). PotD is for up to level 60, HoH is 60-70.

And one last note. If youre running something specific you can always put up a partyfinder group rather then waiting on the duty finder. A lot of players will do almost anything to get some extra new player bonuses, so that can be a quick way to fill out a party for those first time runs of some new instance.

When are you playing that you're getting >30 minute queues? Even during non-peak hours the most I see is 20-25 or so, and that's only if I'm queuing for a specific dungeon instead of a roulette. The only time I've seen longer than 30m queues is during extremely off-peak times (shift-work so sometimes I'm playing at 4am on a weeknight NA time).

30-40 is nothing, when you have queue times like 60 to 75+ mininuzes, i had even once 90 minutes around, that us really brutal to absolutely rificulous.

The problem is, as long this game id based and designed around a stupid outdated holy trinity system, this issue will never be solveable, because changing anything on that system would mean instantly remaking the complete game from scratch snd having to rebalance the whole game too from scratch.

The only indirect way to solve this problem is by making older content over time always soloable by implementing retroactively the trust system to the whole game, so that even total late start beginners can easily play old content without having to wait on others, so that they can always catch up quickly.

Its absolute most important that players can always catch up as quick as possible to the latest content, even if this meand by now that late starters have to do alot of content basically alone, if they dont want to wait abysmslly long on pug players.

The point is, if you definetely want to play older content with other players, therefote you go into friggin GUILDs.

Now with the fellowship system it should be even much easier for everyone to find quickly people which want to do the same things like you to get people to join you in old content that theoretically with s bit self organizstion would be roulettes superflous - theoretically, but reality shows as always that players are too lazy to do shir snd judt want ti be spoonfed for everything, so its easier m quicker to let a computer system let randomly mix together people, than to invest a fee minutes of organizing yourself a group with other features rhat the game provides, the PF being also mentooned here.

Sounds like the OP is queuing for MS roulette at very odd times of the day, and/or queuing for things individually that are rarely sought out. I only get really long times for MS and Alliance Raids at odd times.

Virtually none of my DPS duo'd with a healer/tank for quick queues. It's not even that bad unless I queue for some obscure dungeon at 4am. Don't really see an issue but MSQ trials/dungeons should be on the trust system, I remember when I finished Heavensward it was before Stormblood, but I got to Final Steps at like 2am ST. I'm a night-player due to shift work and I couldn't do anything because no1 was queueing for it at that time of night. No-one should get held back from something that they're forced to do to advance the story because of the queue system.
