Doomtrain in FFXIV!

So...you are correct that Phantom Train and Doomtrain are not the same, but you are technically not correct that it is not already in the game. Doomtrain is the English name, but its original Japanese name is Glasya-Labolas, who is a boss in Syrcus Tower.

Not that they couldn't still add Doomtrain of course, we already have multiple Titans and other things from different games that were originally just different versions of the same character. Just thought I'd throw out that factoid.

Its true that is his Japanese name; but the fact that Glasya-Labolas isn't a train in FFXIV kinda makes me think its just a boss named after the demonology origin of that name, and nothing to do with Doomtrain.

Doomtrain is just a variation of Phantom Train, much in the same way Garuda and other classic summons exist in numerous Final Fantasy titles: slightly different spins on the same base concept. The similarities are anything but superficial.

To be honest, I can't even imagine the dev team doing better than Sigmascape 1.0 in the first place; the aesthetics, battle design, and nostalgia make it the best raid in the game for me.

I do keep saying it doesn't need to be a fight; just gimmie a Doomtrain minion (not Phantom Train.... Doomtrain....)

It's okay to want to see the Final Fantasy VIII version of this character added into the game (also it's been years but I think it was mentioned that this train is the one that runs on the tracks in Central Thanalan) but they really are basically the same thing. They're undead trains that deal with poison effects. Doom Train was an evolution of Phantom Train, and could literally be resigned to the difference of translators and localization.

I thought they called that one Phantom Train in Thanalan? Anyhow Doomtrain in Japanese was called Glasya-Labolas (demonology) and (apparently) Phantom Train's name translated to 'Magic Train'? I dunno, quite different if we're gonna bring the original names into this.
