Yeah I don't mind if its not a primal; just want that Doomtrain representation! A Wind Up Doomtrain would be adorable. And yet Yoshi also as I recall now mentioned something ages ago when asked about if players would ever go to Garlemald that he thinks "they would use Doomtrain to make the journey" (paraphrased of course). It's unclear exactly what he meant by that though, although I think personally he was reusing a reference from ARR's initial storyline about the secret Garlean railway in Eorzea between Castrum Centri and Castrum Meridandium that was also called 'the Phantom Train' (that had zero connection to FFVI's one that appears during the Omega raids - the Garlean one is simply a reference to it's secret nature).
Either way, I think given Yoshi is clearly wanting to move away from fighting Primals as a story element I don't think we're going to see Doomtrain as an actual Primal - the aforementioned Wind Up Doomtrain hinted at back in 2015's Rising would probably be the limit of it's appearence here sadly.
Necromancer, Chemist and Time Mage Jobs for FFXIV! Also Doomtrain...
If only we had a new Raid series that's largely FF8 inspired...
Fwiw, only one boss in the current raid is related to FF8, maybe 2 if you count the 2nd one who I think who's suppose to be based off of Adel and Rinoa.
I hope to see more FF8 bosses...really would like to go against King Ton and Odin in 20 minutes. xD
Would be a great time to add him as a fight; but I doubt it will happen as it seems to be moving away from FFVIII inspired bosses now.
Indeed, do hope they add more FFVIII bosses to that raid series.

It reminded me more of Elvoret, personally. Just a re-imagined Voidsent version of it. Could easily see them doing the same thing with Doomtrain, a Voidsent version, but it would be kind of odd to have say Eden 5 be Doom Train when Omega 5 was Phantom Train... Although I could equally see them doing exactly that for the same reasons...
Eden is rehashing the main 6 Primals, and there are only 4 of them left, with 8 more Eden Raids left. Presumably they're going to do 2 on Eden and 2 Primals each run, and I could see most of the Eden stuff being FF8 related, or at least Voidsent related, given the story. If the second boss really is meant to be a Voidsent Elvoret, or even if not, as long as we get more Voidsent bosses out of Eden, I could easily see them pulling a Doomtrail Voidsent.

I thought that as well. Maybe both? I said Adel and Rinoa because of thisIt reminded me more of Elvoret, personally. Just a re-imagined Voidsent version of it. I can say that I wasn't too happy only 1 (2) of the 4 bosses weren't related to FF8.
I don't like any versions of Titan and this one just rose up the PTSD lol.
I suppose if anything maybe a Mount or Minion. More FF8 love please and please
I hope they give us the boss music soon too!
Oh and not to mention they gave us Quzelcoatolaskdjsl too in one of the dungeons.![]()
Yeah, I see where you were coming from with Adel, it's probably a bit of both. Wouldn't be surprised if the story around that character (who hasn't been named yet?) is very FF8 Sorceress inspired... Heck, given Eden Prime was actually the first boss, I wouldn't be surprised if the final boss is a Voidsent Ultimecia/Griever, with her final form (which, given the design, also potentially doubles up as an Anima(FF10) encounter) as the Savage exclusive encounter.

So you are wanting someone to make a witty comment like "I like trains", and we all have a laugh?

to be honest we had a fight on a train and I am not waiting for another one.
