2) Then queue Freelancer. That's why it's there.
3) This perceptions of Maelstrom being some kind of god tier GC (it isn't by the way) has long since been a meme, because all the bad players join Maelstrom thinking it's the best. It isn't anymore. It hasn't been for two expansions.
4) "All the PvP players are only on one team" checking the scoreboard after pretty much every battle since the premade change tells me otherwise.

You do realise the ladder goes off your actual GC and not what you play as? So if you freelance, you could have 5 out of 20 wins in a week be as Maelstrom and the rest as flames/adder, but ultimately, you will still ladder as Maelstrom.
This is exactly how people fall into the trap of changing their GC to Mael expecting brighter days btw lmao.

I very clearly understand how wins and achievements work. This thread or another thread I questioned how someone could not know how they work.
Trust me not very many of those are freelancing. The few Mael in parties say they just freelance so they get better pops. Just the other day I had the joy of 11 straight losses to Maelstrom. Not even close. The score will be close and then they will farm several hundred points in kills. Several of those games and a lot of games since battle high change they have 15+ kills by multiple players. If they get the privilege of a Flames team with a few healers I have seen matches with 6 players 20+ kills. Before the new mode I have seen Adders and Flames both finish Seal Rock with 0 points.
I leveled Adders up to rank 50 on Aether when seal rock launched. They lost a lot. It was never this bad. The games aren't competitive. I never used to mind because when Mael was in 24s they were garbage. I don't remember them winning any of the 24s I was in on off hours. But once it gets to 72s the balance completely shifts. You can believe I am making it up and that those people are winning freelance. But the people on the Data center know what the outcomes are like. On day 2 ques were up to 30 mins just before prime time already.

The way I also see it is look at your queue times. Mael on Crystal is generally a 30 min queue, however Freelancing usually cuts the queue down to 2-5 min in prime time. If a match takes around 12 min in most cases you could fit in two matches during that time. Double the chances you can win as a FL.You do realise the ladder goes off your actual GC and not what you play as? The only problem PVP has is this awful idea that Mael always wins. A color does not determine who wins, player skill decides that. If people are expecting easy rides on Mael, I'm sorry to say if you don't put in the actual effort you will cost your damn team. Meanwhile a smart team on the others will pinch and be annoying as possible, why I've seen Adders take the win multiple times.
