5.x General PvP and Feast Feedback Thread

As long as top 100 rewards exist in their current implementation most of Ranked Feast will just be Win Trading and Alts taking up most of the top 100 rewards. The system is incredibly toxic towards players that wish to obtain the rewards and more than skilled enough to but are unable to due to the large scale abuse of the system unintentional and intentionally. The fact they aren't even attainable by dps queues either.

I'm going to stop you right there. These just aren't true at all, like at all. You're just lying at this point and people who don't play Feast (who don't know better) might even believe you. The PVP community is small, and you recognize the players on the board. You see them in matches and you fight them, so you know them. There have been people suspected of cheating (buying wins, etc) but those people are shunned. It's simply not true to say that cheaters / alts take up the majority of the Top 100.

Also, ranged queues are tough. But I made Top 100 3 seasons (Season 1 / 5 / 8, each season I tried) on SMN (using healer in low level queues to speed through to higher matches where I needed my main job). You can make Top 100 on ranged, it's not impossible. I have a full time job and am married. I don't play all day. I queue'd after dinner on weekdays and over the weekend in the afternoons/evenings.

Please don't spread misinformation.

All of this, plus loads of people have been hoofed from Ladder for cheating/being boosted. And like Nirokun, both my top 100 seasons were played purely as Range, I think anyone on my DC can attest aside from S4 where I decided going Scholar seemed like a good idea after getting 1600 as SMN - I have never played on the ladder as anything else. Since S7 I've worked lates & nights, which limited heavily my ability to have time to play (because my late shift is 2PM-10PM ST, ergo covering the entire time span queues are active; you 9-5 guys have no idea how lucky you are). Also DPS queues were instant as melee for the majority of Stormblood, so it's clear you're just regurgitating negative information, Poppet, and have no idea what you're talking about.

Please provide more OST and more variance in PvP soundtracks. The music could change depending on the Eorzean time of day or time left in the match. May include existing FFXIV OST's.

More skill choices: we won’t be getting HW PvP back again, but skill changes needs to be added. PvP feels like a MoBa where everyone has the same set of skills and bursts. Great in HW PvP, everyone had a different playstyle, burst and rotation. PvP should be unpredictable and not like PVE where you know what you need to do or what will be coming next. It would be great if the skills were more customizable. Leave the amount of skills to have to a certain number but with more options to chose from. (As healer I rather would have Blizzard II than Dia, survivability over small DPS).

Playing warrior in customs im certain Nascent Flash does very little healing and I found it to be not that good in comparison to the other tanks shielding, can it get: 10s uptime back, 100% heal return on partner and not 50%, add a small shield, similar to its pve counterpart as it doesn’t feel like it will do much saving.

Revert to 5.0 with buffing SCH, WHM, BRD and NIN then it would be the peak of current generation feast

The only thing I dislike is there is no more 24 men mode. They balance PvP over large scale PvP instead of smaller scale PvP is a good direction. WoW balanced PvP over 3v3 has been proven a failure for years, this is a good decision.

The gauge system is a slap on the face to those complainers about old BH system, it only further increase the gap; stronger one will just get stronger.

No more easy 1-2-3-4 simplified burst rotation like 4.0 is also awesome, it is always a thrill when you solo kill any players right now

The feast may be more interesting now since each jobs now have item potions, game will not be ruined if you team up with a new healer. The new healer will get room to grow, overall this is pretty positive patch

By the way, no 24 men and no premade thing is really need to be revert, occasionally I do want to kill with other people instead of lonewolf

Bring back the FULL skillset of all Jobs. PvP is supposed to be a !skillbased!-competetive Gamemode where the right choice in the right moment should secure the win.
