You act like I am opposed to new options for au ra when au ra is my other favorite race. This isn't 2018 if you are going to use the word all don't talk like it is. All races now means all, viera/hrothgar included. It's as if I am replying to someone a year ago. They are in the game now. Further excluding options for viera/hrothgar now just means they are becoming, more, and more limited. SE should have actually thought about this, now that they are in they should be thinking about the players of these races - and including them with further additions that all races should get.

Any addition added to viera/hrothgar is just for making them more up to par with the pre-shadowbringers races. An addition to them wouldn't be an exclusion for the other races.

That would have benefited 100% of the playerbase, instead of leaving the 11% playing Viera bitterly disappointed.
I agree that they shouldn't have added these races. Rather, they shouldn't have added them until they were more "complete", especially hrothgar. I said as much months ago, probably the last time I switched off of viera. It works out for them with me, I switch between Viera/Au Ra/Miqo'te continuously when I am actually playing the game. I'll probably be miqo'te next week, even if I have a preference for viera.

To them it seems these races are gimmicks, and they don't care about them. If people don't like it their fantasia sales go up, at least one for switching, and one for going back. They really don't care. Viera/hrothgar were just there as a pretty thing for the billboards and advertisements, a nice little addition on paper for the expansion.

You're talking to me as though I'm saying "Don't give Viera/Hrothgar new options", when I'm repeatably saying "They shouldn't have added them to begin with if this was the best they could do, putting those development resources into improving all races would have been a better use of their time and money". You can take that as "Screw Viera/Hrothgar" if you like, but it's not what I'm saying. If you want my opinion on the current state of things, then here it is; They've added them, so they not only should work on them, but have to IMO. I do, however, think that it's ultimately a poor use of the developers time and resources, because as I've said, that time and effort could have gone into all the previously existing six races instead, or other projects entirely, I actually imagine a large part of why we see so many reskinned pieces of gear lately is largely because the modelers are stretched thin as a result of having two extra body types to model all gear around, using pre-existing sets they've already done that work for is therefor a simple corner to cut.

I'm really not sure how much clearer I can make my point, so I'm just going to stop bothering.
This makes me laugh. Do you REALLY believe SE of all companies would have added more options for the other races by excluding the addition of viera/hrothgar? If you do you are kidding yourself. They would have found something else to waste their resources on. They won't even do stubble because of "limitations". This would NOT have happened, I am just saying. It really wouldn't. It would be the exact same excuse for the au ra options, "limitations".

I so agree on the fact that the scales look too fake! They look more like skin armor implants or something. That makes me kinda sad.
For example, today I was changing my Au'ra's hairstyle, and I was unecided between one that shows the neck scales and one that doesn't But they look so fake that I decided to hide them in the end. They seem more an afterthought.

The CC is kinda scarce in this game, yes. Instead of adding new hairstyles they should allow more options on various other things. Now........ we need one more race, Kitsune, a fox race. We have Cats, Bunnies, "Dragons", Dog/Wolf (Lupin for Hrothgar which i guess is coming soon). So adding a Fox race wouldn't hurt for a later expansion.

With the limited customization the latest batch of races got, a hypothetical fox race will have 1 face, 1 tail, and 4 hairstyles to chose from.

    @ topic -
I'm still of the mind that limbal rings are a waste of customization slot that could have been used for something else on Au Ra. I would have vastly preferred to change the scale color over the limbals. Unfortunately unless they revamp the creator altogether I doubt we'll see any meaningful changes in the foreseeable future.

Would be nice if they added a colour select from different shades

Whites - pale browns for the Raen
Blacks - deep blues/purples for the Xaela

I personally think greens (Raen) and reds (Xaela) scale options would also be kinda neat. But that's probably just me.

I'm totally up for green/light blue for Raen and reds and such for Xaela! The former will fit the under the sea theme and the second the firey personality theme.
    Instead, meh browns.

I've been playing around with Miqo'te alts for the last few weeks and I have to say "meh browns" (ie. neutral colours) are far more glamour-friendly than bright ones. Somehow coloured tails clash with outfits far worse than hair does.

id, my miq' has purple hair and fur, and I never had a problem with it. Brown also doesn't match with everything, for example it really fights with black and blue. Every colour has limitations.

I believe it was stated in one of the lore books that Au Ra are closer to voidsent than dragons, but it never comes up in the game. The game does have Ishgard driving Au Ra refugees away and then hunting them down and slaughtering them because their scales made them look draconic, but that's only mentioned in a couple of job storylines (50-60 white mage and dark knight) and never comes up anywhere else.

I cannot figure out where in the lore books the voidsent thing is stated. I've looked over both several times unless it's like, a throwaway remark in a somewhat unrelated spot?? Now I'm gonna have to go lookin again...
