You'd think it possible cause the old Auri npcs have massively long horns it seems like.

All races have a single feature that can be adjusted via a slider. Elezen, Viera, and Lalafell have sliders for their ears, Hyur and Roegadyn have muscle tone sliders, and Miqo'te, Hrothgar, and Au Ra have sliders for their tails.
It would be neat if we could have variations on horn styles though. Some of the Auri NPCs, notably the elderly ones, essentially have longer versions of the horn types we already have.
As an aside, is that a Haunted Mansion reference I spy in your username?

No!! Don't swap out my eye rings D:!! I use those all the time on my Aur Ra!! But I would LOVE for there to be a way to mix up the horn selection we have. I think I literally like all the horns we have now but it bums me out that I would need an entirely different face to use them. Horn length... I wouldn't mind it but I probably wouldn't care about it as much as having a variety of scales and horns to work with.
Well, i am quite happy with my face/horns combo, but yeah, more options like lenght/size would be nice.
Sometimes rumors are just... rumors.
I would like to swap the types of horns and their color on my main alt. The face is perfect but the horns are just so....![]()
Yes please.

I think we can all agree that there should be more options all around. The problem is, they want things to be even. If They go crazy and let Au Ri customize every little thing they will have way more options than any other race, especially ones that do not have animal ears/horns or tails. If they gave Au Ri more options what would they give Hyur and Elezen? Don't get me wrong, I 100% agree that horns should be a separate customizable option and shouldn't be locked to a face and while I like the limbal ring I'd gladly toss it for that option.

I think the problem is that while horn choice might have been better than limbal rings if they were designing it from scratch, they were using the pre-existing system and they seem to have a fixed template across all character designs with specific kinds of customisations. If they implemented something else instead of limbal rings, it would still have to be a setting with two independent on/off switches and a linked colour choice. You could maybe add bits to the single design of horns with a setting like that, but not give a choice of the four designs as-is.
They could maybe give a choice of horn shape instead of tail shape, but it's possible the tail length slider setting is linked to the tail shape setting, and giving a choice of horn shape would also mean the slider become a horn size slider... which might not work well, or scale/stretch in odd ways. Which is possibly why they decided on the face-locked horns in the first place.

I don’t know if changing the scale colours would be a good idea, imagine changing your horns to a lighter blue as a Xaela and then going to the steppe for the MSQ, Namazu, gathering, etc. It’d look silly, so they would need to make the colours available limited as you said, but how limited is the question.
There’s also another thing about more customization as people seem to be throwing around in these types of threads, it’s that not everyone may want it. I’m all in favour of more customization and quite a few people in this thread seem to be too, but I’ve heard in other places that talk about this how more in depth customization could be intimidating, or too much for new players, so we need to keep that in mind too.
(Although in my opinion that’s the most ridiculous sounding thing in the world to say about a RPG, a genre that includes quite a few games that allow you to do fairly complex customization, let alone in a MMORPG where you’d want your character to stand out amongst many, but that’s just my 2 cents)
