Kupo!
I wholeheartedly agree! This is a delicious dessert, with a name that makes Americans giggle. My ex-wife's Bermudian and I remember going to a restaurant with my (American) family before the wedding and my dad not being able to contain himself when he saw that on the menu. I'm partial to it with some black rum soaked in...YUM!
You do know you just described the main ingredient of Archon Loaf, right? :PMaybe it could be added as a "Bmite Sandwich' (thus avoiding name copyright issues) with the description "A mysterious alchemist from the southern islands apparently created the thick black spread that coats these otherwise ordinary slices of bread from yeast and various herbs and spices, that is something of an institution in his homeland, and hopes those in Eorzea may share his enthusiasm for the spread. So far there have been few takers..."
I like to make it for breakfast, though I think the US version is quite different from the UK one. This is what we call the dish made from a slice of bread with a hole in the middle with an egg put in, that's fried on a skillet. I think the closest we have to UK Toad in the Hole here in the US is Pigs in a Blanket; essentially sausage wrapped in pastry/bread/biscuit dough then baked. I'm going to have to try the UK version now...thank you!
