An Aware, Informed, and Critical community is vital for the success of a game.~ John "Totalbiscuit" Bain

Given that they've been turning this into FFXI-2 I don't think they will ultra-casualify everything with a content finder. I don't know what you're talking about with dead servers though; please speak for yourself.

The content finder has both pros and cons. The pros far outweigh the cons.
Content finders do in fact dilute the "community" aspect of MMOs, but it also strengthens the accessibility of content, which is probably a larger deciding factor when it comes down to "should I continue to pay my monthly fee."
SE can alleviate content finder cons by actually restricting NEW content (defined as content in the past two patches) to be available to a content finder grouping via server residents only. After two patches pass, those dungeons/instances/content become available to cross-server grouping.
If SE requires a black and white approach to the content finder, it is FAR better to have it than without.

I've never thought of this and I think it's a pretty brilliant idea actually. :3SE can alleviate content finder cons by actually restricting NEW content (defined as content in the past two patches) to be available to a content finder grouping via server residents only. After two patches pass, those dungeons/instances/content become available to cross-server grouping.
So we'd get to play with our communities.. and then when the content is perhaps less popular people still have an easy time finding others. I like it. Server first, then others for back up later.

i will for once agree with this being the fact ppl search me and it show everything, i get random tell to craft this for them and to meld this for them. I dont want to be a Dix, so i alway say yes. I dont mind it but from random ppl it hard to say since it does something take forever when some1 ask you to craft this than turn it this color than meld this and that so yes a little private would be nice.

				Do implement Content Finder!

The only reason I dislike "content finder" is because I think instancing everything in the game is a terrible idea.

...Isn't the point of a petition to gather as many signatures as possible of people who support something, and then present all the signatures in a nice, coherent way to the the higher ups who are able to make the changes you're pushing for?
If that's the case...and this is just me, now, I could be wrong...Wouldn't you keep your number of petitions small so that they're taken more seriously and bear some weight?
I.E. I work for a record label. I am bombarded with people day in and day out wanting me to "Hook them up." In theory, yes. Yes, I could get you an interview with my boss's boss and potentially make you a star. But, I never do. Because I know one day when I actually find someone I know can be a star, I don't want to be the guy who's like: "I FOUND THE BESTT PERSON EVAR" and my boss dismiss it because it's the 6092348345th "Best person evar" this month.
If you want your petitions to have any significance, please combine them or reduce the overall number.
I scarcely post on these forums, but I read them often enough to know that every other day you seem to be posting another "petition".
Whether or not I agree with your petitions is an entire topic unto itself.
Any opportunity to make more friends is fine with me. I'd like to play with new people. The server merge + this are both very welcome additions.
If you'd rather not play cross-server or (for some strange reason) have an easy way to find a group on your own server, there is always the main court in Ul'Dah and I haven't seen yet where /shout is being removed from the game.
