So...Has anyone tried Eureka since 5.1? Is it soloable now?

Just curious as to if Eureka is more easily soloable now.

Im one of the people who went in to the first Eureka, got to level 2, and quit playing it because i hated it, only to regret it later when everyone had moved on and the armour started showing up (I want it for my glams :'()

How soloable is each...Tier? Of Eureka now? If at all?

I've been soloing it for a few months now. Started as dragoon and got splatted, then changed to Paladin and it's slow going but doable with self heals. Mostly just doing the challenge log every week. Sometimes get a group doing the fates, but mostly just solo doing logs till I'm done. Have only been doing for story tho and not gotten any of the weapon quests so I can't speak for that. The actions in 3rd and 4 areas make soloing easier since I can get damage and defense boosts... It is slow but got lots of netflix watched along the way. Whatever changes should only make it easier I think

We've been popping all NMs like Cassie, Ceto and Skoll throughout the last two days. With elemental gear, you can solo max level mobs in your zone (except with Pyros and Hydatos where you need to combine it with logos). Also, almost in every instance you'll find a group of people working on something.

As for Pagos, it's now a breeze to fill in your light. If you get a group of only 3, you can fill your kettle twice in 20min (getting more will reduce your light gain but still not a really bad amount).

I'm just gonna pretend that i understood all that, as someone who is level 2 in there and barely set foot outside of the first safe zone when it was first introduced, heh.

Soo...What im hearing is that its still not fully soloable?

tl'dr: Advancing through Eureka is soloable now, although you still do need to do fates with a group if you want the relic gear.

    Long version:

Gaining elemental level (and thus being able to advance the story) is very easy to solo, particularly if you're a Red Mage or Scholar. You can target enemies one level above you with ease and very easily reach chain 30. This even leads to a decent amount of light in the applicable zones and works extremely well with the weekly challenge logs. If you can get a small party of friends going, you can probably move up a couple of elemental levels and make it go even faster. My personal anecdote: I took a break at the start of Pagos and never took it up again until yesterday. I went from elemental level 21 to 32 solo yesterday using the challenge log and was also able to obtain 10 light from it.

Gaining the primary crystals for relics (not the light ones that you forge) is still tied to fates, however, and this does require fate farming still. That said, the zones are much less populated and I find that people on average are much more accommodating and willing to wait on people before pulling than before. I.e. the train is no longer an unstoppable steam-roll. I found from my 2 days in there since 5.1 that there's usually enough people to form roughly 2 parties for doing fates. Aside from some of the capstone fates (e.g. Cassie in Pagos) I also found that fates take far less effort to spawn and the cooldown between spawning also appears to be shorter. I spent about 5 hours today farming fates and got 300 pagos crystals, another 7 frosted pagos crystals, and went from elemental level 32 to 34. Most of the time was super chill with everyone helping out to make sure everyone got to the fate, although toward the end that helpfulness started to wane as new people with different personalities started to join.

Edit: Oh, and the final item for the relic gear that drops from the highest level fate in the zone can now be purchased with crystals at any eurekan birdwatcher, so you don't even need to worry about spawning that fate unless you want one of its other drops.

    My bad lol.

To say fully soloable, I would say no. But, you can pretty much do a lot of stuff now solo with ease and especially leveling. For some FATE boses, you'd probably want to have a group if you're not familiar with the fight or don't have good gear for it (minimum I'd say is 1DPS 1 Tank and 1healer).

I haven't played around too much, but my previous experience was something like this:

Anemos, I didn't mind too much. Enemies weren't terribly tough to begin with, enemy placement wasn't a horrible chore, and you could fairly easily solo your challenge log well before this update. I would suspect that now, Anemos is fairly tame.

Pagos really wasn't as bad as everyone says, for me. Enemy density seemed a little higher, but not awful, could still make it around the map if you were careful (although the cliffs were an awful design). But the enemies here were somewhat immediately frustrating. I found I didn't really enjoy fighting very much here, but, thankfully during my time there, groups were common enough that I got through it rather painlessly. With the buffs now, I would suspect Pagos to be a bit more reasonable, though hard to say if the common complaints have actually been alleviated.

I never got to finish Pyros before 5.0 dropped. Much like Pagos, my opinion on the zone was mostly opposite to the majority. I really hated this zone. Logos actions don't make up for all the bad. Mobs are very densely packed, making some areas of the map incredibly difficult to navigate prior to overleveling. With the changes, enemy placement is still the same, so there's kinda largely the same risk in some ways. There always seems to be a handful of players in spawning FATEs when I've checked, so that's nice. Not sure about the crystal drop rates, tho. 600+ to upgrade all my gear for the next zone sounds incredibly daunting without a proper FATE train now.

Overall, using mounts is a godsend. I didn't mind learning how to walk everywhere, but, mostly just made things unnecessarily tedious and slow.
Enemies do seem easier to kill now. Previously, I only really felt safe trying challenge logs in Anemos, capped at 20. I could probably try killing things closer to my actual level now without much stress.
But, they also did not remove the exp penalty from death (to my knowledge), so, I'm still not entirely willing to push myself to any limit.
Mind you, all of these observations are from trying to take a BLM through this. Much of this might feel a lot different on jobs with better self-preservation.

Conclusion: If you're interested in the glams, be ready for a grind. It's the 4.0 relic, after all. It's meant to be tedious. Being able to solo the FATEs for the crystals you need is questionable. But, also remember, this may depend largely on how many others are in the instance. FATEs are tuned to current capacity. Might be, if you can get in and you're the only one there, things could actually be fairly easy. But, if it's not, and you're the only one there, you're gonna eat a penalty if you bite off too much.

pyros is still anoying to navigate, and the story is still hard to do, you know, because you need to navigate thro areas what has mobs of higer level than you, mobs what you can't kill solo if you are still bellow their level
