Memes aside, Rescue is a very useful tool not just for fixing mistakes but also for optimising play in organised groups. My static always uses Rescue after a Limit Break to cancel the LBer's animation lock and thus buy them one or more GCDs of uptime, in addition to potentially pulling them out of danger. We also sometimes use it just to allow a caster to turret as much as possible before pulling them to safety. That is risky and not always reliable due to the Rescue lag but... it's a fun thing to do! It's a creative use of a tool at our disposal that nets us a bit of extra dps and that feels good. And I think that outweighs any once in a blue moon trolling that someone might experience in a low-stakes environment with pugs.

And in any serious content, if someone's Rescue trolling hurts the team effort, that person earns the boot. Don't blame a tool for the actions of its user, just deal with the user.

And even in terms of helpful pug applications, Rescue EXISTS to get new players through Orbonne, against their will if one has to. I've lost track of all the times I had to pull someone into Dusk Blade circles >.>
