Why remove it when it can be useful? I've saved people from instant deaths with it, if you know what you're doing you *can* make it useful.

Idk what healers you're playing with, but wheh i tank they either just dont use, or they use it as intended. If you ask me just kick healers like that or tell them to knock it off, we shouldn't all have to suffer just because of a few bad apples. Some people say it's hand holdy, but when healers do it to me it actually helps because then i realize "oh, i probably shouldn't stand there, thank you!"

I've only used it on rare occasions (Current example is Engels punches) but each time I did, I got a "Thank you." for it. That person would've been a stain on the ground if the ability wasn't there, costing me or someone else MP in a rez. I'd much rather the ability stays.

It needs to go quicker is what it needs to do. The delay often makes it that you don't actually save the target.
Very much this, too many of my uses have been extremely close calls cause of the delay with a few actually not helping. Once I know the fight I can typically "spot" someone about to be KO'ed, but still risky.

Should we give "team spells" to DPS and have everyone able to cause widespread devestation? The idea is to hurt the bad guys, not each other. Healers still heal party members. They can save lives without rescue.
That's exactly how it worked in stormblood. NIN and ranged physical in particular had tools that interacted with the rest of the party. The general consensus I have seen is that these tools are sorely missed.

"The idea is to hurt the bad guys, not each other" Just because tools can be misused doesn't mean they are meant to be used that way. Rescue isn't meant as a troll tool, it's meant as a rescue tool. Just because you don't want to interact with the rest of your party doesn't mean that any skills that do are "harmful" or "tools for trolling".

    Widespread devastation.

    Lol

Just because you can't see any use for this ability doesn't mean that it doesn't have it's merits. It's a highly useful optimisation tool in raids within a static and it gets widespread use in Savage strats, something that SE clearly appreciates given that they recently reduced the cooldown on it. I'll add I've been getting a surprising amount of value out of it in the latest 24 man.

Stop being a blind and oblivious bad. Thanks <3

This. Also, I can't count how many times I've rescued someone about to wipe the raid, let alone someone anout to die. It's double edged of course because you need to rescue early so you do get some cases where you rescue someone who was fine, but overall it's better to be safe than sorry.

A BLM who doesn't know the use of rescue. I've seen it all now.

I was Rescued a day ago, or two during a run where I was still new to the mechanics, where I would otherwise have taken the whole hit.
Used correctly Rescue is an awesome skill to have.
My vote is to keep Rescue like it is.

I'm a PLD at raid level, thanks very much, a quick glance at my lodestone would tell you that. Shirk is an ability that gives 25% of your aggro to target party member, forcibly manipulating their enmity against their will. I could use it to kill party members who I didn't like if I were MT. A quick shirk, death, voke.

I like how vague, yet patronising, your comment is "you are wrong, I won't tell you why, but please stop posting until you have learned to tank".
Exactly, only 25%. Meaning once a good amount of aggro is established, if you shirk somebody, they're not getting full aggro, so nothing would even happen. Shirk is not a "instant main aggro switch" button, you are just sharing a bit of your aggro with someone else. Whereas with Rescue, it will ALWAYS do something, and that something is controlling someone else's character
That's on a whole other level from Shirk. The two are not the same.

Also, please don't put words in my mouth. I never said you didn't know how to Tank, I said you didn't understand how Shirk worked. And nah, I don't care enough to stalk anybody's lodestones like some of the posters here, that shouldn't be seen as a norm.
