I just wish it was less of a jump scare. I nearly have a heart attack almost every time I get rescued.

No.
/thread.
That isn't the healer's fault, but the insane delay the skill has. If you're going to assign blame, make sure it's targeted towards the right direction.
It'd be a game changer to all the friends and strangers I've saved from one-hit deaths.
And if an SCH wanted to preshield, or an AST wanted to make sure their buff applied to everyone?
There is no legitimate reason to not stand behind the boss with everyone else. Doing so is incredibly rude and inconsiderate.
OP is on a trolling spree just so everyone knows.
Same start to another trolling thread "I'm gonna go on a bit of a rant here... " :

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Give players a toggle ability which negates rescue if active. This way, if rescue bugs you or is being abused you can manage the problem. Solved. You could leave ability off if you know fight really well or until someone abuses you with it. An abuser would get exactly one shot at mayhem. I will even take a shot at name "Steadfast"

I used it on my coheal the other day in Copied. She thanked me for using it
while she was playing with basically one hand as she injured it.
So that was nice.
Then another run, coheal used it, MNK who was whining all run and
got upset and said "Well you don't use them on melee."
Lol, okay. You wanna keep up GL stacks so bad I guess you wanna die trying.
On a more serious case of the skill itself. It's wonky and you need to know when a mech is about to start,
run away from it and hurry to pull the player who is likely caught because the skill itself is instant on use, but delays
people to move. I did this for a BRD, who died in a mech anyways and was sliding across the floor, dead.
I like the skill but I wish the delay wasn't so awful and if people are honestly abusing and trolling you with it.
You can report them. They'll get punished for it.
It is a useful skill for statics. It is a tool for trolling and misunderstandings in pugs.
It can be annoying when the healer has good intentions with rescue but instead causes problems.
An example that I can remember was as a RDM about to hit the 3rd hit of the melee combo while a PoB aoe began to telegraph. Easy enough to finish and backflip out in time... But then I was across the arena from an overcautious rescue. Absolutely destroyed uptime and made me annoyed, but it's hard to blame a healer for trying to help.
I just saved two different people last night on the second boss of Factory when they failed to notice the flamethrowers were about to go off.
Rescue is fine. If anything, they could speed up the animation a tad.
This bait thread has to go instead sadly.
