The few times I've had rescue used on me to yank me out of AoE, I noticeddthat I had been yanked halfway across the room, and started looking out for things.
Getting yanked for the lols is fine too, lighten up
Should we also remove Shirk and as we are talking about healer, any of the many heal spells? This is a team-based game, if you don't like other team members contributing to your experience then you are playing the wrong game. The game has already suffered enough from team skill pruning. The battle system was far more fun, particular for me as I play tank, when we had skills like diversion, palisade, shadewalker, smokescreen, cover in it's previous form etc. The toolkit was far more varied and unique, and now we are all cookie-cutter jobs all within our own lane, don't perpetuate that.
FYI, anyone abusing anything should result in you reporting that person, not asking for the battle system to be changed for the worse.
Edit: You don't have any jobs at 80 OP, maybe wait until endgame before you start asking for abilities to be removed. Rescue can be a godsend in raid, particularly PF raid, and can save runs if people make mistakes, or increase DPS uptime (free AM for BLM?) if the group knows what they are doing.

Should we give "team spells" to DPS and have everyone able to cause widespread devestation? The idea is to hurt the bad guys, not each other. Healers still heal party members. They can save lives without rescue.
Y: I usually compare FFXIV with a theme park, but the Forbidden Land of Eureka won’t be a place where everyone would want to go. For example, there are people who don’t want to go to horror houses because they don’t see the point in getting scared on purpose. For example, on a date, the boyfriend might want to invite the girlfriend to go the horror house, but the girlfriend just doesn’t seem to find it fun. In other words, it’s not like everyone wants to go to the horror house, but there are people who just love the adrenalin rush they get from it. Think of Eureka as something like that.
That's exactly how it worked in stormblood. NIN and ranged physical in particular had tools that interacted with the rest of the party. The general consensus I have seen is that these tools are sorely missed.
"The idea is to hurt the bad guys, not each other" Just because tools can be misused doesn't mean they are meant to be used that way. Rescue isn't meant as a troll tool, it's meant as a rescue tool. Just because you don't want to interact with the rest of your party doesn't mean that any skills that do are "harmful" or "tools for trolling".

Just because you can't see any use for this ability doesn't mean that it doesn't have it's merits. It's a highly useful optimisation tool in raids within a static and it gets widespread use in Savage strats, something that SE clearly appreciates given that they recently reduced the cooldown on it. I'll add I've been getting a surprising amount of value out of it in the latest 24 man.

This. Also, I can't count how many times I've rescued someone about to wipe the raid, let alone someone anout to die. It's double edged of course because you need to rescue early so you do get some cases where you rescue someone who was fine, but overall it's better to be safe than sorry.Widespread devastation.

I would love to have more skills like rescue.
Hell, I want a PvEvP gamemode were you have to try to kill other player with pulls, knockbacks, aoes, etc.
Btt. Rescue is a awesome skill and without it, many player would have died in Baldesions Arsenal.
It's just a awesome feeling when you rescue the out of position DPS into safety so he can continue the dungeon.
Rescue has to stay. I have lost count on how many times I saved someone from certain death in the Crystal Tower Raids alone by pulling them behind a meteor (Behemoth/Amon) or on the plattform during Ancient Flare (Phlegethon).
If someone abuses it you can always report them.
