    Amaurot changes?

    I was very disappointed to see Amaurot in the Expert Roulette, but whatever I can deal if it pops up and with the new MSQ dungeon I didn't think it'd really come up all that often. Today is the first day that I've gotten it on the roulette... and wow was it messed up!

    Now I know it's ilevel synced and thus can take a while, which is why I don't like doing it and was hoping it would be off expert, BUT I know how long it took to do before the patch which wasn't TOO bad so whatever. I was so wrong. It takes roughly twice as long to AoE packs down now and don't even try to pull multiple packs anymore. That's a recipe for a wipe apparently.

    The first two bosses take longer to down as well. The first boss mechanics seem to be completely out of whack as the meteors (the little AoE ones) never stopped during any phase of the fight, the second boss needed an LB to finish off before the Burst happened and the third boss... well let's just say that the tank survived the last Apokalypsis and barely managed to down him from 3% to 0%.

    I have never had this many issues in this dungeon, even on my first blind play-through of it. Anyone else noticing that it's off at all?

    This is what it sounds like to me. Though i guess i havent run it this week, so i cant say i have a recent test to prove it wrong. Nothing in the patch notes says it was changed, and there wasnt an across the board AoE nerf, so this is probly a bad group situation.

    I can guarantee it wasn't a group thing at all. The two DPS were my wife on her SAM and myself on RDM and we have been through this dungeon tons of time sdue to getting it constantly on our daily roulette. The tank and healer seemed to do just fine and since both of them had between 450 and 460 gear and knew the mechanics, I'm figuring they knew what they were doing.

    We ran this thing just fine before the patch. The first boss did NOT spam AoEs on the field from pull until it died before. On the second boss Burst NEVER got to almost cast before it had to be LBed before either. The third boss never even got close to finishing off the final platform niche - we'd usually have it undamaged when he died. I know what this run is supposed to look like. The others running it knew it too. The other two running with us also noted that they messed it up somehow.

    Has anyone of you ran it since 5.1 released? If not then don't assume it's the group. You know what assuming does. Run it for yourself. I bet you'll notice that it's definitely changed and not for the better.

    Yes, I ran Amaurot both before and after Patch.

    Yes, the last nub does eventually break. I had a horrible party as a PLD, solo'ed the last 40% of the boss, only to die as the last one broke away at <1%.

    The issues you’re describing sound like low DPS to me. Are you sure that the tank and healer knew what they were doing? Having i460 gear doesn’t mean that they were outputting enough damage. It’s very likely the healer wasn’t dealing damage at all, since there are those healers who believe themselves to be above contributing to DPS. Tanks that don’t AOE trash and healers that don’t AOE trash can make the trash feel as if it takes twice as long to die. Were they AOEing the trash? And were you and the other DPS AOEing the trash?

    The first boss has always had circle AOEs that fall along the arena starting around the second Meteor Rain cast. The second boss can only almost finish its Burst cast if DPS is low (I’ve seen that happen a few times). And the final boss can leave you with no platform ledges to hide on if you take too long to kill it (so, again, low DPS). None of this is new, and hence why I asked if this was an issue with your party dealing low damage.

    Just got out of it prior to this post. Not only did I do every mass pull possible, I purposely ate Fallen Meteor like I normally do. Not to mention, due to my game accidentally tabbing out, I stood in an Earthquake and got a vuln stack. Boss still didn't do even remotely enough damage for it to matter. Now I'll admit, I'm bis tank but no one in the party was above i460.

    There have been no changes I can see to Amaurot. You simply had low DPS, be it from yourselves, the healer or the tank.

    Doesn't Amaurot sync you down to 440 at max? I haven't ran it recently so i can't quite remember.

    Probably was just your party. I run this with my FC and we tear through it in 15min.. the big annoyance is the mobs that tether to you and add vulnerability stacks til they die.

    Many people don't like this dungeon because AOE-a-thon and the first boss can be a wild ride.
