I like the mage tops too! You can cover up the robot arms with long-sleeved handgear.

I got the ranged physical and tank sets, they looked pretty cool, plus the healer and caster dps body pieces look cool as well, glad whoever sent this design in for the entry got picked cause it's a unique looking design for gear sets.

I like the set... except that the darn helm doesn't close when you toggle the visor and instead it... glows???? WTF? Why?

I mean...dude, we're Tanks. We're the role that is associated with bulky armor. Not sure why this is surprising. We're meant to be the Bulwarks of the game.

Tanks can have variety in how they are presented or defend. It's not always through bulky armour. Heck, look at GNB, its AF is not that bulky and it pretty much uses energy shields to defend itself rather than any kind of physical defense.

But other games, there also exist magic tanks who rely on magic and also evasion tanks. Both concepts already exist in the Final Fantasy universe, having played FFXI with Dancer, Ninja, Red Mage, Blue Mage and Thief tanks. Of course, its not this game, but should illustrate that there is a variety out there on what works for tank appeal.

At least glamour in this game is not limited by the game lore like in ESO or GW2.

There are soooo much more diverse glamour options in this game that no other game is even a competition, not even WoW since design there is strict and not too diverse either.
I really like this new pvp armour for tanks, it looks nice on tall elezen, but it looks good only as a set of all pieces together.
