Doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't look good doing it
As J said in MIB,.. "You know the difference between you and me? I make this look good"

i like them all just not the tank and aiming helm should have just gotten the same visor as melee
Aiming set is very mass effect fitting i think

You do realize this set was actually based on a design made by a player who won a competition SE ran last year? Maybe SE shouldn't do 'design your own armour' competitions anymore then if this is the sort of criticism they get. No matter what Yoshi and his team does it's always wrong to someone.
And for what it's worth, I'm not a fan of the design of the Late Allag set in general but I do know people have been raving about this set so if the majority of players like it then that's what matters, as more glamour is always a good thing.![]()

The design was actually a melee DPS only entry, everything else was SE design team decision. Tank gear may look a bit clunky, but mostly ok in my opinion.
Melee gear is slick and very sexy. I m jealous.
Mage gear is also nice, because you can look like an operator or something.
... ...
but WTF happened with RANGED? A slight modifaction of the melee gear would be so nice, but Ranges are the thin version of the tank gear. What am I? The heavy artillery robot?
Left is Melee, right is Ranged...

My guess is that the Ranged set was originally going to be the Maiming version with the Maiming version being the originally intended Ranged version, but they realized that technically the contest was to design both Maiming and Striking gear.

That's not true. The player submitted design was specifically the sleek and fitted armor that the melee dps got. The bulky tank set being discussed was not designed by the player in the design competition. You do realize this set was actually based on a design made by a player who won a competition SE ran last year? It's understandable that people hoping for a similarly sleek design for the other roles would feel disappointed that, instead of embracing the aesthetic the player submitted design, SE decided to go with their usual 'bulky tanks, robed casters' aesthetic. Especially since the player design was based on such an iconic look (from the Metal Gear series). Personally I understand that SE likes to differentiate roles like this, though in this case I feel like it's a bit unimaginative.
All in all I think it's actually the 'armored longcoat' tails that really ruin the look for the tank set. I bet if the chest piece didn't have those random long tails added (which are pretty much antithetical to the spirit of the original design, which is obviously geared towards mobility), people would be a lot more ok with the Tank set having a more armored, hard-shelled look.

Rei Makoto put it best imo.
