This !......Maybe a more apt comparison is we both want to get on the rollercoaster, but they have a "special" seat for "hardcore rollercoaster dudes." It's somewhere in the middle of the rollercoaster and isn't anything special, but only one person can sit in it at a time, and there's a separate line for getting on that seat, which of course, only lets in one person per ride.
There's a ton of these, all of the mid-level NMs are basically normal monsters with different levels and names. One of the aspects of FFXI that I just loved was the world NMs. What set them apart and made them fun was that they were just like any other mob - only different in name and level! I'm not a big fan of the large, visually different, and also grouped NMs of the XIV world. I loved the idea that I could solo-camp random NMs and this was a way I spent my downtime in XI - even for crap items! It was just...fun.
Oooooooooooooooooh.Because it's wasted development time for s**t that the majority of players don't like or want. The NMs we have now are fine and everyone (except people still stuck in FFXI gear) likes them. Nobody (except people still stuck in FFXI gear) likes NMs with horrid pop conditions or competition for camping these NMs.
When Yoshi said he had to finalize the cost estimation he meant he had to chat with you, since you seem to be so knowledgeable in the subject.
Didn't know that tossing a normal enemy labeled with a different name that runs on a timer would break the piggy.

Actually a more apt comparison would be that I like to go hunting for a single hare against other people while you like waiting in line for a burger.Maybe a more apt comparison is we both want to get on the rollercoaster, but they have a "special" seat for "hardcore rollercoaster dudes." And for some reason my way bugs you and interferes with your meal.
What are you talking about?
For Noble Mold to pop it's placeholder had to go untouched --- meaning even of someone provoked it the timer reset -- for at least 20 hours. After those 20 hours it extended to having to be raining. The "rainy season" for Sanctuary of Zi'Tah was about two weeks every real life year.
How is someone supposed to be "better quicker faster" at not touching a mob?
You must be f**king joking if you seriously think that the only things that the devs have to do to get a NM out is to rename a monster and just drop it somewhere in the world. Do you?Oooooooooooooooooh.

Actually a more apt comparison is you and a bunch of rednecks with guns go out into the woods to hunt for an albino rabbit that you heard rumors about. Also joining you will be the entirety of the four closest towns.Actually a more apt comparison would be that I like to go hunting for a single hare against other people while you like waiting in line for a burger.

Meanwhile, I go get some friends, some guns, a hunting license, and go to an actual hunting ground that has more than one rumored rabbit. Except, unfortunately, most will be brown and black, with maybe an occasional albino one.
Uhh.. I think they only pop so frequently because the drops are untradeable and unique.
And I mean, times have changed for MMOs, somewhat. People no longer haver the patience to camp an NM for 24 hours until it pops. You'd think we'd all be gifted with patience since we're playing an unpolished game...
noap.
In response, the OP:
Here I was thinking you actually read the OP. My bad.
Okay, so you admit you like being cradled by the system and dislike competition and that what we do interferes in no way with what you do. I'm glad you could come into terms with logic.
Hunting Nm's was one of my fav things in xi except the ones with retarded pop conditions. Like Colorful leashy was an nm in one of the CoP area's who could spawn to be another nm if left there for 24's who dropped a ring which was awesome but i never got to claim it once cause No Nm will never stay up for more 24 hrs lol. I would like to see some pop conditions for nm's with 20 min cool-downs on them at most, kill a few placeholders nm spawns.
No, I'm specifically asking you if you believe that the only things that need to happen from the design teams, dev team, and QA team to get a NM out is to simply add in some code and change the monster name. Is this what you believe?
I also like how the moment I say that I don't like dumb claim competitions, that I'm "cradled by the system." Are you implying that actually fighting the mobs can't involve skill? Or that in FFXI, the skill test was getting the claim and not actually killing the NM? Are you saying that getting a claim involves skill, and not just luck, bots, or good latency?
