Why can't you deal with both things being in game? Would it be oh so terrible that we had both FFXIV type NMs and FFXI like ones? How does this hurt you? Yoshi said he wanted this game to be like a theme park. Okay, I don't like to get on the kiddy rides, I like the roller coaster. I like camping ying yang robe with just 6~8 players against two full alliances and WINNING. I like that kind of ride man. It doesn't have to do anything with yours. Why can't you stay in the spinning tea cups while I go up and down and around in the roller coaster!? Live and let live man.
Because it's wasted development time for s**t that the majority of players don't like or want. The NMs we have now are fine and everyone (except people still stuck in FFXI gear) likes them. Nobody (except people still stuck in FFXI gear) likes NMs with horrid pop conditions or competition for camping these NMs.
I like how you euphemistically make fun of my skill because I don't like wasting my time doing nothing, and I don't like developers wasting time making extensive content for a minority of players.Yoshi said he wanted this game to be like a theme park. Maybe a more apt comparison is we both want to get on the rollercoaster, but they have a "special" seat for "hardcore rollercoaster dudes." It's somewhere in the middle of the rollercoaster and isn't anything special, but only one person can sit in it at a time, and there's a separate line for getting on that seat, which of course, only lets in one person per ride.

When Yoshi said he had to finalize the cost estimation he meant he had to chat with you, since you seem to be so knowledgeable in the subject.
Didn't know that tossing a normal enemy labeled with a different name that runs on a timer would break the piggy.

Actually a more apt comparison would be that I like to go hunting for a single hare against other people while you like waiting in line for a burger.Maybe a more apt comparison is we both want to get on the rollercoaster, but they have a "special" seat for "hardcore rollercoaster dudes." And for some reason my way bugs you and interferes with your meal.
Please don't speak for me when you say the majority of people. The OP is right, the challenge of claim, the thrill of discovering a NM that just popped, the randomness, and competetion all contributed to the fun. The NM system they have in place is noobish as Majidah pointed out with his rollercoaster analogy. Keep in mind that the majority of the people who play this game came from XI. These people left XI because it wasnt the same game it used to be years ago (book burn parties, level sync, etc.). They are moving to XIV by the many because they're hearing about the updates and changes being made. If the game is to be the success that XI was, than the players will expect a similiar experience in a new world to explore.Because it's wasted development time for s**t that the majority of players don't like or want. Primals and Instanced Raids dont have to be eliminated for these to co-exist.

And fyi, these NMs are not supposed to be challenging like FFXI's. They're there for quests and to fill item gaps; they're set up so that everyone on the server can get their stuff from them and move on.
It's a completely different meta-game. Stop trying to turn this game into an MMO that it wasn't meant to be.

Ok so I'm not opposed to giving idea's and suggestions, hell I give enough of my own.
I just don't think we should be saying hey can you copy this from this game.
I like ThePatriarch thread about NM's because he is asking for discussion on new idea's and suggestions to add NM's.
This thread is more like can you copy this from FF11.

Im with op.
