Installing the game with the new launcher crashes my PC

I wanted to reinstall the game because of an issue I was having with the settings so I went to reinstall the game, only to have issues installing the game when it reaches around 10-16GB around 3 attempts. I tried to install the game with the old launcher and the process went fine, despite crashing my PC again when the download was near the end of the Shadowbringers expansion. But eventually it worked fine afterwards. But currently. I'm not exactly sure if it has anything to do with my computer specs or that I was using a VPN since I was also having trouble downloading prior to this current issue.

    Specs:
    AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8-Core Processor
    16-GB RAM
    GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
    2TB HDD

Good morning and thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

When the launcher crashes, are you getting an error message? If so, could you provide it in your next post?

Good morning and thank you for the reply.

Were any updates or changes made to the PC that coincide with the crash? Could you also provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'
