If he only played melee he really could actually believe that, ya know.

I forget which Letter from the Producer LIVE video it as that mentioned lvl cap (1.20?) in any case Yoshida clearly mentioned it somewhere along the lines of considering lvl cap raise around 2.0 launch, but I doubt it.

Don't need a cap raise yet. The game needs more stuff to do besides only leveling; there's enough of that from level 1 to level 45.

I'd prefer more content & "barancing". If they do raise it, i hope it's not until at least spring~ 2013 or with the 1st expansion.

While it would be nice to see people participate in low level content, i just don't think it will be possible unless people are using Content Finder & leveling through the content (looting along the way). It sounds so typical of most modern MMO's, but i doubt anyone will take interest any other way.

would be way to much work to increase level caps before 2.0. Think of all the content they would have to add for every single class and now jobs to. No they wont be increaseing level cap untill 2013 when 2.0 has been out for a while. Personaly i dont want to level 50-60 in the same boring maps anyway, would much rather increase my levels on the brand new 2.0 maps.

I understand many people don't wish for the cap to raise before 2.0, however I actually made this thread to hopefully gain raw information instead of opinionated reasons why we don't need a cap raise. I see all the disadvantages of pre-2.0 cap raises, but I'd still like to know about when we can expect them even if it won't happen until 2013/2014. I think all the stuff that comes with a cap raise (given from FFXI's experience, an expansion with new jobs and areas to explore along with new content) would make a lot of people happy. I know you can get new jobs/areas/content without raising the cap, but I don't think any of those would have an /airquotes "complete feel" to it while still being stuck at 50 which doesn't feel quite mature enough to be end game-ish.

I'm reluctant to play the game for level 50 gear when there's level 90+ mobs roaming around the core area. I also believe it would be kind of crappy to develop real "end game" content for level 50 when it doesn't feel like an "end game" level. To me, level cap raises mean better content besides these dungeons and primals to keep us busy until they are ready for it.
