Lost all housing furniture

Hello there!

As the title suggests I want to know if there is anyway I can get my furniture back. I was gone for a year during SB and was able to come back for ShB. Of course I lost my house but thanks to 5.1 I was able to snag a spot right near my friends!

It was then I found out all my furniture from my previous house was completely GONE. Nothing, notta. Even in the storeroom where I thought I had some furniture would be stored was gone. I remember there was an NPC you could talk to so you can get 30% of what you paid for the house back and all your furniture but he didn\\'t help and just said something about it being a "limited" time thing. Which, remember, I was gone for a year.

Is there anyway I could contact a GM through a ticket or am I completely out of luck? I\\'ve been playing since the game was released in \\'13, so I got a bunch of seasonal items saved up that I don\\'t want to buy way overpriced at the Mogstation. Not to mention all the millions of gil I spent on the furniture itself.

I think its only 30 days from the time of house demo that you can pick up things that were in the house. After that the game deletes it all. As far as I know there is no way to get anything back past that point.

There is an email you get that you will lose your furniture after 30 days if you dont talk to that NPC who holds them. I don't think they do favors of giving items back since it's in the system. Even google could tell you this.

You only have 30 days from the date of demolition to speak with the NPC in the housing district to receive your gil reimbursement and your furniture. If your house was demolished a year ago, you’re well outside the 30-day window. The GMs have a one-time reimbursement, but it’s usually for a singular item and you will only have one for the lifetime of your service account. They will not restore all of your housing items to you.

Unfortunately your items would be long gone as a couple of players have said above theres only 30 days after demolition before the items are deleted completely. If you reckon you might be gone for awhile in the future you can store stuff in an apartment (at least the harder to obtain items such as expensive housing items, Mogstation items and event housing items).

I think one way to keep a lot of housing items could be to purchase additional retainers for 1 month and store housing items on them and when you get back from a long break take out another 1 month on the retainers to re-obtain the items again. I don't think items on retainers ever get deleted but I am not 100% certain.

Agree that the system is terrible though. People are held hostage by their houses in some cases. Literally keeping a sub only to visit their house once before the demolition timer expires.

When housing is demolished your remaining items should be kept somewhere permanently until you return ideally. Hope SE can find an alternative to the current system at some point.

Who was even speaking on the reasonable-ness of the aforementioned rules? OP asked a question about where their housing items might have gone, and people answered. No one was asked to discuss how reasonable or unreasonable the current rules for retrieving items from a demolished house are, much less discuss the housing system as a whole. There are other threads for that, but that was not the premise of this thread.

Sorry to say but your items are prob gone for good, could try contact support but i don't think that will help.

This is one of the ( many ) reasons why the housing system need to be changed, if you own a house and don't wanna lose it you are pretty much forced to buy a sub when you get the "notice" email.
Ofc i can understand why they doing it atm ( terrible system ) and it would be fine if you only lost the plot itself but to also lose all your furnitures and all that is stupid.

The owner has 45 days to enter the house, after which the house is demolished by the server. After that you have an additional 35 days to collect 80% of the gil spent on the plot as well as any furniture from the Resident Caretaker npc. Once the 35 additional days are up, everything on the RC npc is deleted. As for the housing storage, that is connected to the housing itself. If a house, private room or apartment is removed by any means, the storage connected to it is gone as well and the furniture in it is treated the same as that of the furniture in the house. Also take note that if the house is demolished by the server due to a server transfer, the Resident Caretaker npc will not have any of the gil/furniture on them.

You may be able to contact a GM and use your one time item restore if there's a particular item you lost that you really want back to see if it's possible to retrieve it, but the company has a general zero care policy in terms of lost items from the system they created, this includes items you've spent real money on.
