I heard this thread was about wanting an auction house & not over charging on items? Plz correct me if I'm wrong tho. If I need to use 3 decently leveled crafts to make an item and it takes me 30minutes to craft said item I'm not gonna sell it for 1gil I tell you that for sure.

I already wrote that in diferent topic, but ill repeat it here:

in EVERY game, where market is not available everywhere, where is region locked, players will crete 'trade hub' and converge in one place which will be most convinient. RIght now its uldah. Becouse most of staryline quests require you to go there, and becouse it lies between Limsa an grindania. No matter what you do people wil do that. that is in human nature.

AH wont change it. it will give you a save of 30 seconds if they give the item right to you from AH. And game would loose awesome immersion mode. I love just going through ward and browsing stuff. Makes me feel tht i am really shopping . ANd market wards crasshes are issues with code, and if they are datrabase issues, than insted of crrashing wards you will have crashing AH.

Also issue of not seeing HQ items its not really an issue with wards. Its just improvement they need to add to search function. And even now uyou can judge item quality just by looking at price, co it is usually 3-4 times more than for low quality item
Only wish i have to improve AH is to increase stall rental time, even just by aniother 24 hours, one week would be awesome. Right now its a tiring job to renew it everyday

    1) It's not really shopping because in real life you don't have big arrows pointing at that particular box of Fruit Loops you want in the cereal section at a supermarket.

Walking to that specific retainer to make that purchase, put simply, it's just redundant.

    2) Undercut or overprice, they both still happen regardless of AH or MW.

It's slightly easier to undercut with MW with prices all listed out, but you can also jack up prices, given sufficiently low supply.
It's easy to jack up prices with AH when there is no supply. It's even easier to undercut when a price history is there for you to see.
    They both have their weaknesses.

Recommendation? Can't think of a perfect solution right now, but for the sake of convenience, I go for AH.

You know what, if you ask me, the problem isn't with AH or MW. It's the supply of materials and gil in circulation.

When a rare ingredient for a measly mid-level gear is hard to come by and people start to complain, SE probably should look at adjusting the drop rate, or create another alternative to obtain it, this will place a price ceiling on that ingredient, hence inflation control. They need to keep a very very close eye on item supply.

With the guildleve system in place, gil is easy to come by, not to the extent that everyone can be rich, but it certainly closes the wealth gap. There will be far less complaining about low purchasing power in FFXIV than XI.

Anyways, forcing prices down through an inconvenient and irrational system isn't really an ideal way of price control.
